The last time we played in Evanston

This video (and the super-slow song) never ceases to crack me up.

the sequence with the snap into a motioning funchess, then gardner getting tripped by the rb had me cracking up. it’s not every day you see a 1-2 punch of pure incompetence like that. what a shitshow

"Northwestern Moon". Great hit.

It built off the success of "10 Man Return Team" and "10 Man Return Team Part II" and "10 Man Return Team Part III"

And don't forget concert staples "It's Just A BooBoo" and "Clap Your Hands"

"My Quarterbacks Are Crying" was a real tearjerker.

But he did have some derivative stuff: "27 or 1 Per Rush" was a blatant Chicago ripoff, and "Are You Fully Aware??" was pretty clearly a Flaming Lips homage.

Still better than Nickelback

Some more recent history on the series. Since the Anthony Thomas fumble game in 2000 (our last loss in Evanston), Michigan is 10-1 against NW with the lone loss in 2008 by a score of 21-14. The results in Evanston are as follows:

2003: 41-10

2005: 33-17

2007: 28-16

2011: 42-24

2013: 27-19 3OT

2014: 10-9

Outside of late era Brady Hoke, Michigan has handled their business at Michigan Stadium west.

I remember listening to that game on the radio.   All I remember was how ridiculously one-sided it was.  NU was like a decent H.S. team in those days.  At one point in the 2nd half, Bo put in a lot 2nd and 3rd teamers including freshman DE Tom Seabron, who added to the rout by sacking the QB, stealing the ball from him, and running for a TD.

This made me realize something, This was a bad Michigan football team, as well as the 3-9 season, truly bad Michigan teams. But, I was born in 1970 and grew up with Bo as the coach and truly became a big fan of M footbal when Harbaugh was QB, I lived most of my young adult life never seeing a bad Michigan team, Ive seen bad losses but never a truly bad team overall, (I think we made a bowl game every year for like 38 years in a row or something.)

This is really a bad team, it makes me enjoy the success that we have today a little bit more knowing how bad we were, the music really captures the essence of suckage that this team portrayed lol Go Blue!!

I remember that game like it was yesterday. It’s about the time I tailspinned into the absolute rock bottom of fan despair, thinking we’d never see our way out of it.

4-5 vs 3-5 ... yeah.

I don’t see us laying an egg like that again tomorrow, nor do I see a Dileo slide/snap/kick/up and good FG forcing OT.

What an unforgettable dark era of football.

This was a game where at some point, you just had to start laughing at the ineptitude.  It defied belief that so much ugliness could be packed into one game, on both sides.  It was like the two teams decided to troll the viewing audience.

If I remember correctly I said “to hell with this game” and finished putting new rotors/break pads on both the front and rear of my old truck ... finished and went back inside just in time to see OT.

Good Lord. Was at this f'ing game with my buddy's nephew for his 1st football game ever. We had to tell him that football normally isn't that shitty on numerous occasions.

If I didn't know better I would assume that video came from a game played in a freezing rain storm with howling winds.

My buddy and I took our 4 year old sons to this game.  I honestly felt guilty exposing my young child to it and feared that he might form a lifelong image of Michigan football based on it.  Thankfully he forgot the particulars and is pumped to go tomorrow with me... and my buddy... and his son.  Ohh god, I hope we don't cause that to happen again.

Everyone was so bored and agitated that I got a hearty laugh from both NW and Michigan fans in our section when I screamed at Fitzgerald for calling a timeout to ice our kicker before our (blocked) FG attempt at the end of the 1st half.  Ahh, memories.

I was not there for that 2013 game, but I wish I had been.  The Dileo slide-hold (and Gibbons kick) is one of the top 10 special teams plays in Michigan history, in my book.  We should have won that game and we did.

Funny thing, seeing that video (and thanks for posting it) is that I remember immediately after that play, was thinking that it looked like two pickup teams, with good players, but neither of which had any coaches.  Just guys making up plays on their own.  And that might not have been too far off, although I have a lot of respect for Pat Fitzgerald.

I've always liked Drew Dileo sliding safely into home to take the snap and make the hold for Brendan Gibbons on the game-tying field goal with time running out in regulation.

Everything had to go right at that time, from Jeremy Gallon getting the ball to the official after his catch near the right sideline, to that official getting the ball to the position where it could be put in play, to the field goal unit getting on the field quickly, to Dileo's slide, to the clean snap and finally to Gibbons' kick.
