Josh Gattis named Semi-Finalist for Broyles Award (Top Assistant Coach in Country)

Per (M Alum) Nicole Auerbach, Gattis has been named a semi-finalist for the Broyles Award. A week or so ago he had been named to the watch-list. Nice to see the offense come together, and the staff get their just desserts, even if we as a fanbase lose our mind (lovingly, of course) on a weekly basis. Go blue/Beat ohio

On first glance, I'd give it to Knowles or Ruggiero.  Oklahoma State probably has the best Big 12 defense in the past 15 years, and without the 5-stars that Georgia has.

And Wake Forest having a Top 10 SP+ offense is an incredible accomplishment -- that school has the worst all time winning percentage for P5 schools.

Gattis has quietly assembled the best WR room we've seen since the Carr years. I have a hunch Okie State's DC will win the award, but I am giddy to see what bowl season and 2022 will look like if all these guys come back.

Yeah. Even if you’re not 100% thrilled with Gattis, this wouldn’t be the year to have him leave. We’re returning A LOT of pieces next year and you’d really like to have some continuity instead of breaking in a new coordinator, new system, and new terminology. That’s definitely a move you’d prefer to make alongside roster turnover.

Disagree.

The numbers speak for themselves.

It's to the point where I'm hoping everyone returns to keep the continuity. Also, I think it shows the players your commitment. We talk about changing the culture, buy-in, sacrifice, etc.

That can't only be on the players.

If we get all coaches back, maybe that helps keep Ojabo, Ross, and/or Dax Hill.

Gattis really? Any coordinator that runs 32 times and loses to MSU should not be on this list.

I don't watch alot of Purdue but the 2 games watched vs MSU and OSU their offense looked awesome. I expected to see their offensive coordinator on the list.

Kenneth Walker is a Heisman canidate, it happens.  Gattis left ALOT of points on the board.  And some really odd plays at the end of the game. Listen I don't want to bash him but let's also be honest as a fan base. He's improving but for him to be a candidate for any type of coordinator of the year award is crap. Our offense stalled out when we needed it against Rutgers and Nebraska as well. Saved by our defense in both of those games.  Again I love Michigan like every one here but this is absurd.
