Board is out of control. I'd like to speak to a manager!
November 28th, 2022 at 10:41 AM ^
This place is like Project X since Saturday afternoon and I'm here for it all!
November 28th, 2022 at 10:42 AM ^
The best kind of meltdown is a M fans racing to post the next satisfying dose of schadenfreude or analysis from Saturday
November 28th, 2022 at 10:47 AM ^
Remember last year after the OSU game? People were posting something every minute or two so stuff was falling off the front page almost immediately. I think I posted something (or made a comment about it) and was definitely overruled in thinking it was a problem because people were just so happy they wanted to say something.
So this year I'm just going to relax and enjoy the mega-posting ride. If there's something important I want to read I can always find it later.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:30 AM ^
This is the correct approach. My preference for anarchy is probably a bit much. But we don't need just 2 football threads on the front page, and I think people don't need to be this protected from hitting the "next" button.

Just tell everyone to get off your lawn, then your user name would check out! :)
November 28th, 2022 at 10:42 AM ^
you need to speak to a supervisor??
November 28th, 2022 at 10:47 AM ^
Are you secretly Malik McDowell asking for a supervisor?
November 28th, 2022 at 11:28 AM ^
I'm getting whiplash.
I thought yesterday the board was saying Klatt was swinging from t(tm)OSU's jock?
So Klatt is good again now?
November 28th, 2022 at 12:12 PM ^
This is one of those good problems.
November 28th, 2022 at 12:49 PM ^
These are the kind of board meltdowns that I enjoy. I remember the bad times.
November 28th, 2022 at 10:39 AM ^
He thinks Michigan, maybe, can win it all. I am pretty sure that if OSU had won, by even a single point, he would have much more effusive about their chances.
November 28th, 2022 at 1:34 PM ^
Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Klatt been higher on UM than most national pundits? He, Cowherd and RG3 lol.
November 28th, 2022 at 10:40 AM ^
I think we have better chances than last year, when I was just happy to have the opportunity to be sacrificed to Georgia. This year our team is even better, Georgia seems more mortal than before, and there won't be any Alabama (hopefully..)
November 28th, 2022 at 10:44 AM ^
This is so clearly our best shot at a national title in decades. We cleared the biggest hurdle, Ohio State. There's only 2 playoff teams standing between us and unlike last year, there's no obvious juggernaut. Georgia has scraped by more this year than we have. USC and TCU are good but flawed teams that don't have enough defense strength to stop us.
Really feel like we can win it if just a few things go our way (like Blake Corum getting back to nearly 100% with a few weeks off)
November 28th, 2022 at 10:50 AM ^
first things first..............Purdue
November 28th, 2022 at 11:01 AM ^
Yup, look hard at their schedule. Despite a couple of blips, they were competitive in their toughest games for the most part and barely lost PSU. I think they are to be taken dead seriously.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:13 AM ^
yup. spoilermakers live for taking out top 5 teams and will definitely be up for this one.
November 28th, 2022 at 1:49 PM ^
Michigan is 1-0 in the last game they played, and there are 3 more to play.
"Be where your feet are," as Ronnie said.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:26 AM ^
call me crazy, but I think the talent/size/speed gap between UGA's personnel and Michigan's was rather apparent in the playoff last year. I have seen very little to make me think that gap has closed in a meaningful way. I'm not saying M *can't* beat that team, but I'd be shocked if UGA was favored by less than 10pts in that matchup, should it materialize.
But perhaps a stomping of Purdue and USC/TCU could make me reconsider.
(full disclosure: the only UGA football i've seen this year was the second half of them stuffing Tennessee in a locker and stealing their lunch money.)
November 28th, 2022 at 11:47 AM ^
I think Michigan's better. I also think this year we won't just be happy to be there. But I also don't think Georgia isn't as good, I just think they've played down a little to the competition because they just won a national title.
What happened to Tennessee is what happens when they focus.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:35 AM ^
Beat Purdue!
November 28th, 2022 at 10:48 AM ^
This team feels very similar to 97-98. After beating Penn State, I remember thinking that we were going to beat anyone else we played that year. I feel the same way now.
November 28th, 2022 at 10:51 AM ^
One play, series, and game - at a time.
Michigan has the potential to win three more games - and, the next step is against Purdue in Indy on Saturday evening.
I respect the other teams that are projected to be in the CFP - Georgia, TCU, and USC. Georgia seems to have the strongest defense in that group.
Michigan is a solid team, and is built on its lines - the foundation for success.
It's always the basics - solid game plans, with a high quality of execution.
I'll defer any national championship conversations until next week.
Go Blue!
November 28th, 2022 at 1:38 PM ^
I'm going to defer talk of the NC game, but mostly because I am enjoying the after glow of the Buckeye romp and soon to enjoy BTCG talk against Purdue.
It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!
November 28th, 2022 at 10:54 AM ^
This team will want Georgia. I love it.
November 28th, 2022 at 10:55 AM ^
It's that day where I'll be listening to podcasts and watching youtube all day. I have about an hour left on the MGoPodcast. This is fun.
11W threat level column should be amusing too.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:02 AM ^
Beat Purdue.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:05 AM ^
I think Michigan has a great shot. A better chance than last year, especially considering that its likely they will avoid Georgia in the semi-finals, but you have to believe that if you get past TCU, Georgia will be there waiting for you in the title game.
This is Michigan's best chance in years. Georgia is #1, deserves to be #1, and will be favored the rest of the way. They won last year, are still undefeated, so they've earned that. But Michigan, in my mind, is better than it was last year, and Georgia is (at least on defense) not as good this year, either. That's relatively speaking, as last year was a generational defense and its still really good this year. But its not what it was last year, and Georgia has struggled in several games this year.
Assuming Michigan takes care of business this weekend, and gets by TCU (which is not a given), they can do it. I'd say Georgia is probably a safer bet to repeat than Michigan is to win it all, but this team would be locked in and foaming for redemption after what happened last year.
Corum said after the game last season "We will be back." He wasn't kidding, and he's going to want that chance badly.

My favorite Klatt line from saturday-
"75 yards! They said the kid couldnt throw a deep ball"
Goosebumps.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:30 AM ^
My favorite line: "Tommy Two Thumbs durrrrrrrrrr"
November 28th, 2022 at 11:39 AM ^
that was Gus, not Klatt, who said that. And I must say generally speaking they called a terrible game. They were way too into OSU for my liking.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:51 AM ^
I thought they did fine. It was a serious game, and they announced it that way. Did they give OSU props at times, of course. Same for Michigan at times.
This wasn't an uncompetitive game like MSU, they weren't needed to entertain, just call a good game.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:11 AM ^
The Michigan we saw Saturday absolutely can win it all. A team that can balance a great run game with some QB runs and a downfield passing threat is a legit threat to win it. With what we showed thru Illinois I didnt think we had it, but post-OSU its clear this is probably the 2nd most likely team to win the title
November 28th, 2022 at 11:24 AM ^
Michigan should be 25-1 over the past two seasons and on par with Georgia if not for the bullshit rip-off that was the MSU game last season.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:32 AM ^
I was very confident we could beat Georgia last year.
This year I'm just going to be hopeful.
I don't see why we shouldn't be favorites against TCU, USC, or OSU (lol) though.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:35 AM ^
This was SO great. I love Klatt. This is a must listen for any die hard Michigan Football fan!
November 28th, 2022 at 12:02 PM ^
100% agree. Glad the OP posted.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:36 AM ^
At least the servers aren't literally melting any more. The site crashed so hard Saturday for a little while and I wasn't the slightest bit mad, nor surprised.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:37 AM ^
I respect every opponent - and, I particularly like this pic. It's from the "after game" celebration / trophy presentation to Georgian in the national semi-final. I believe that both Morris and Blake Corum were near them, but not captured in this photo.
It's attitude - it's effort - it's every day, 365 days a year. I believe Blake said "we'll be back".
I believe in these young men - this team - Go Blue!
This photo has all five of them... feeling the "sting" can provide motivation. I respect and appreciate their attitude and commitment. Next game - Purdue on Saturday night - in Indy.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:37 AM ^
Here's hoping the team is laser focused on Purdue and ignoring all this "can Michigan win it all" nonsense.
November 28th, 2022 at 12:27 PM ^
I'm less worried about that than I was this time last year. It was their first time there and they handled Iowa. Purdue has never been there and they just arent very good. Michigan is focused and knows what to expect this week.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:51 AM ^
Can we? Sure, USC/TCU are tough teams, but beatable and Georgia is a great team, but not what they were last year
November 28th, 2022 at 12:08 PM ^
agree. That will be a great conversation to have AFTER the Purdue game
November 28th, 2022 at 11:57 AM ^
I enjoyed listening to Klatt's take on The Game, and his views on the state of the two teams. He made some great points, the most important being that M has finally caught up to OSU, and that it's a real-deal rivalry again.
I also agree with his points about Day being an obviously excellent coach, and (I grit my teeth saying this) that OSU should be in the playoff over Alabama or anyone else if either USC or TCU loses their championship game.
If McCarthy continues playing the way he played in Columbus, I think we have a good chance at the natty.
November 28th, 2022 at 12:03 PM ^
Joel as usual very on-point breaking down this game, particularly how OSU's defense was "stealing" from its secondary to stop the run and not playing fundamentally sound defense.
November 28th, 2022 at 12:13 PM ^
Beat Purdue first.
November 28th, 2022 at 12:32 PM ^
This bit about M “joining” OSU at the elite table, and how we got there is as thoughtful as I’ve ever heard Klatt be. Good stuff here.
November 28th, 2022 at 12:33 PM ^
We don't have the explosive pass rush we had last year, naturally, but we're better all around, especially on offense. I think we're in a better position to score on Georgia, and stop Georgia from scoring, than we were last year.
