Indeed it does matter.  Very much so, but not maybe in the way you think it does.

Brian?  Skeptical?  Nah ... never.

It would be barely tolerable if only that awful musician stayed on key ... needed a whap to the side of the head.

Saw a podcast interview with McCord in which he said Day told him to go; leaving was not his initial plan.  I'd say that might qualify as self-immolation-ish.

It was a good point from…

It was a good point from Nick.  I wonder if Day's "we're tough now!" mantra is behind this. Just as we brought in McDonald to install a defense that could solve OSU, perhaps the thought is to bring in a new OC who, unlike Day, knows how to put a running game together that can score more than 23 points in The Game. .

Thank you.  Now fire that pinhead running the boat.

Jansen asked coach Moore…

Jansen asked coach Moore after the game if that running game in the 2nd half was part of their "play sheet" or simply a mid game adjustment to what PSU was doing.  Sherone immediately and confidently said if was part of their play sheet and "it has been since the start of the season." He added that there's "more to come."

Although it did have the effect of strangling the game, it was designed to win the game, not just play keep away.

Still do.

Still do.

I was so so on them too .... until my gf dragged me to a live Killers show in Detroit.  Absolutely floored me how powerful and explosive they were and the audience was almost raptured on pretty much every song.

IMO, if you can't get a kick out of how much the students enjoy it, stay home and watch on TV.

My first live game in '73 (a last minute field goal victory over Stanford) I was delighted about the sense of fun I felt in the frosh section of the stands down close to the field. Never got over it.

Samuel Clemens in a M sweatshirt for sure.

I went through every grade…

I went through every grade from K to 12 in Farm Hills public schools with Bob Patek in the 70's.  Bob was built like adonis but never broke though as a starter for Bo. He played the entire 1979 Rose Bowl game (a loss) when the starter got hurt (forgot his name).

Went on to be an othro surgeon in Chicago and, sadly, passed away from cancer a few years ago.

Agree on this. And I if I might add one PSA here ... I am one of those boomers who can't give up the fun of seeing live rock concerts and ended up at the Killers show in Detroit three years ago. It was stunningly good, right up there with the best live bands I've ever seen (and I have an impressive list to compare). Highly recommend catching a Killers live show if you get the chance.

Agreed ... Gibbs is going to…

Agreed ... Gibbs is going to be a holy terror coming out of that backfield and he looked serviceable on his blocking too. Imagine pulling four immediate legit starters out of a draft like that. Not very Lions like, but a great achievement by Holmes, who did take some second guessing on these picks (or at least where he took them in the draft order).

If it was up to me, I'd…

If it was up to me, I'd return to the Big 10 as an actual regional conference and restore the traditional conference-aligned bowl system. I don't give AF if people argue about the final polls.  Playoffs are, in my boomer view, just another step in turning college football into a minor league professional system.

But I'm well aware that's all just dreaming; the train has left the station.

I thought their take our O Line transfers imply some lack of player development with recruits was off-base and perhaps lacking knowledge of the details here. It's fair to say "remains to be seen how well a revamped line works out" as they did, but I get the sense they misunderestimate the talent we brought in and the depth of existing talent they'll be competing against.

PSA: There's a really good book recently published call "Road to Surrender" by Evan Thomas .. tells the story of the Japanese surrender and the dropping of the A bombs. Includes the U.S. side ( primarily from the view of Stimson) and the senior Japanese politicians and military involved, as well as the emperor. I thought it was a really good read.

My eldest daughter's first M game experience.  What a nightmare watching McNabb run over and around our entire defense like a man among boys for the entire game.

Worst M home game I've ever seen.  At least the Appy State game was competitive and somewhat entertaining.

The Michigan Replay segment is awesome too .... Carr at his best and holy cow, I had forgotten how many outstanding players there were on that team.  Unsurprising that they ripped ND but how in the hell.... aw, nevermind.

Never would I have thought someone could train a wolverine, a real one, to a leash.  The beast seems not only not bothered by it, but playful and unconcerned ... wow.

That play haunted me for years - will never forget, don't even have to watch it. I wanted the game so badly for Bo.

That's my take ... we look at the entire area of sleeping bear/TC/Benzie county as one big playground. You can get to most all the smaller towns mentioned here in a 30 min drive at most.

The raft float down the Platte is just awesome ... plan on some beach time at the end of it.

Agree on the whole TC/sleeping bear area as the top M family vaca. Some of the most beautiful parts of the state, plenty of outdoors stuff, hikes, bike rentals and decent restaurants in TC.  The hotels on the strip can be a little pricey, but staying right on the one of the arms of the bay is worth it to us.

Plus, not an unreasonable to hit a long day trip, or two, to Mackinac island (note the correct spelling there OP).  Love the island, worth the trip, but it's a small little tourist area and you'll see everything in one day.  Don't recommend a long stay there.

Wasn't it OSU QB Fields who said after the 2019 game (paraphrasing) ... "the Ohio State campus is great, I went down there once to see it and it's really nice."  Mercenary is the right description. That works in the NFL, but college football is built differently.

Yup, look hard at their schedule.  Despite a couple of blips, they were competitive in their toughest games for the most part and barely lost PSU.  I think they are to be taken dead seriously.

The best predictor of future behavior is indeed past behavior, but I and many others are evidence that the growth in maturity from 18 to say 22 can be vast and transformative.

I saw the Eagles in their prime, if there was one, at Crisler;; late 70's era. They were great, but they sounded exactly as if I had played their record in my living room - not what I hope for when I see a a big-time band live.

Jethro Tull, however, at the old Jennison (sp?) field house MSU rocked the place with gusto.

I met Bob Lanier in a business setting not long after he retired. Seeing the size of his hands, and his feet, was a shock. Freakishly huge, even for his length. He wasn't just a big man, he was built like a tank.  (He also was the about the nicest pro athlete you could meet, warm/friendly guy with a smile as big as the rest of him .. despite Thurmond's experience with him.)

Which brings it all back to Coach Brown talking up the DL - if that's real, they can be a lot better than last year. CB is a question, but I think they can "get over" there ... a stronger D interior would be a big step up though.
