Izzo's New Excuse
Can't blame the injuries anymore, so he turns to the refs. We're only 30 games in to the new rules now. You'd think his team was playing with a completely different, more harsh rules than every other team is by listening to his interview. Time to adjust, Tommy.

(Again, can't embed, if anyone else could for the board that'd be great.)
There was a little tug, but it definitely wasn't enough for a foul to be called (on anyone anywhere), let alone for a foul to be called on Aaron Craft in the last five seconds of his college career at Value City Arena.
Did he mention on the play before when Denzel drove the lane and fell over he pushed Craft off with his forearm and there was no call on that (OSU was in double bonus?) I doubt it.
You don't get freethrows for an offensive foul regardless or bonus/double bonus, do you?
This is the "tragic injustice" everyone is crying about? Seems pretty tame to me.
Not to be that guy, and you're not going to get this call, but I mean... pic.twitter.com/ttmmsTroOL

Yeah, that had about as much of an effect on Harris' shot as Lebron James' jersey sleeves did on his.
...maybe they should sign an Adidas contract.

Moreover, that looks worse in the still photo than it was actually was live. On the video, it's apparent that it really didn't affect the shot.
It's crazy.
He also said Harris twisted his ankle a bit, which is pretty sad too.
This team was overrated when it started the year; their "big win" over #1 Kentucky looks way less impressive right now considering UK is a middling team at best. They could never score consistently if Harris or Appling had rough stretches, and when you have to deal with injuries and have virtually no useful bench it will bite you in the butt a bit. Plus, people keep thinking about MSU's defense like its 2000; they haven't been amazing on defense for a couple of years now, and while they have stretches of solid play they don't really shut down competent teams anymore.
"Half my team was on the bench about half the game" .....duh?
So I got my team back, but I didn't really get my team back...
smh, man. C'mon Izzo, you can do better than that.
I don't have the technical expertise to edit and put together videos from different games. But, if someone here does, it would be immensely entertaining. It would also reveal a lot about Izzo's (lack of) character.
Izzo reminds me of Joliet Jake giving excuses in the Blues Brothers.
(link already posted in deleted Izzo thread)
Just listened to the whole interview - does anyone know if Izzo had any players on the bench due to foul trouble?!?!?!
Something about the rules only allowing five on the floor at a time, the way I heard it.

trying to read between the lines, he may have implied that once or twice.
/s
Izzo's got excuses for a loss before his team even hits the floor...
State would get 6 fouls and the other teams would only get 5. After all, it's only fair.
MSU finishes the regular season 0-4 against the other top 4 B1G teams.
He can say whatever the heck he wants. He has an extremely talented team that has completely underperformed, has no chemistry, and has shown very little toughness as of late. That falls squarely on him. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them bounced from the big dance before the second weekend.
"We had no subs"... and it's making him crazy

that is one incredible whinefest.
lololololololololololololololol
Or may Izzo could play a crooked lawyer on TV??
So tired of the Izzo excuses.
Big Ten refs are the most forgetful whe it comes to the new rules. When Sparty plays in the NCAA Tournament and the games are called as close as they are supposed to, Sparty will be an "upset" victim.
is acting like he is bigger than his team and the product of Spartan Basketball. In the end , people don't care about excuses; they care about outcomes. You are measured by your record.
He thoroughly appears like he is physically and emotionally spent. He has gained some weight and his color has not looked good all season to me. I hope after this season ends he takes a long look at himself in a number of dimensions and addresses some issues that are very clear at this point.
I agree. To me, he looked like a guy on the edge of becoming unhinged. He was clearly wrestless and barely containing rage. Someone get that guy an Abilify.

now he has to share his Jet with Dantonio.
Go do yourselves a favor and read some sections at the ole' RCMB. What I learned in five (5) minutes.
- The Big Ten hates Michigan State.
- The officiating is to blame for every loss this season. All their wins were well officiated.
- If officiating isn't to blame, then injuries are to blame and caused their ultimate demise.
- Michigan only won the conference because this is the weakest Big Ten in memory.
- Aaron Craft tackled Gary Harris four times and got away with it.
Of course, not a single person mentioned the one thing everyone else (outside of Dick Vitale) thinks: Michigan State just isn't very good at the game of basketball this season.

"This is a very good team..."
No, you have some very good players, but this is not a very good team. Sorry Tommy.

Tom is indeed unhinged and quits after this year to his hobby farm north of Iron Mountain. The MSU AD glances at Lincoln, NE and thinks "that Miles guy did a bang-up job this year". They hire Miles, and now we're faced with the connundrum of having to hate the one opposing B1G coach that we kinda like and respect.

He's such a bitch
There are just so damn many!
Excuses are used as filler so that he doesn't completely bash them.
There are just so damn many!
LoL
You have to remember, Spartan teams are never beaten!
Izzo had "no subs"...
