I thought Peters handled today well - optimistic poster here

DPJ was in bounds - should have had 14 points in the first half, on the road at Camp Randall

Fumble due to injured wrist - his only turnover of the year

this despite the OL not being where it needs to be

Next year we have red-shirt sophomore Peters and red-shirt freshman McCaffrey

we have transition to Harbaugh recruited QB's and I like our future

...fumble on goal line of course stunk and some late throws but love his mobility and decisions overall. If he can make it upright into next season we may have a decent QB on our hands.

I’m with Brian on the replay issue. It’s overwhelmingly likely that DPJ’s toe tapped first, but I think, by the current rules, it was not 100% definitive, and the call properly stood. I would prefer to see the rule changed to favor the more likely scenario in calls like this. What’s the point of all this high tech, uber HD technology if we’re not going to take advantage of it to make the right calls down to the millimeter?

Peters did fine. Like I said in my previous post, we just don't have the players along w bad playcalling. Our receivers are garbage, literally. We have no explosive play makers on offense. DPJ is a freshman but I thought he'd be a little more explosive and run better routes. Our Oline is just physically weak and not smart enough to pick up on stunts and shifts. Our rbs umm yea chris evans should not be a rb let alone a big ten running back. And that's where the coaches come into play. Use him as receiver or your 3rd down check down guy wth. Yes we are young, yes we will be better next year, but no execuses to lose to every team w a pulse this year. Harbaugh has to figure this out bc we just don't match up to these teams mentally or physically (offensively speaking)

OSU down years still make it to Indianapolis with a shot at the playoff. Michigan down years end up in the fuck ur mother bowl

Good work with Gentry and Peoples-Jones. Clearly developing a good trusted connection with the young receivers. We will be good with Peters. He's already showed the ability to move in the pocket and avoid the first rusher. He should look to throw on the move though. I really hope he's okay.

Not happy that M has three losses.  But the reality is that this is a rebuild year.  The very small and not highly ranked 2014 and 2015 classes (just 30 guys over two classes)  make this roster the youngest in CFB since 2003.  That is a big deal.

People should be more upset about losing to Iowa and OSU last year than being 8-3 this year.  2016 team really had the personnel to win the Big Ten, but it slipped away.

2017 team is super young.

They will develop and be really good in 2018 and 2019.  But that happens only if the o-line next year can figure out how to pass protect...  The o-line is (still) the thing that hold the offense back and will still be a big question mark going into 2018.

saw some good things and some not-so-good things from Peters today [NOTE: it would help to have receivers with better ball skills]... but he will improve w/experience

concern: he's taken two in his face sacks from a blitzing end or corner this year (one today), that can't happen - back-side (blind-side) sacks are understandable, but a QB has to have: 1) the vision and 2) spatial awareness of a front-side blitz.

more reason for optimism w/Peters (because of his mobility and demeanor) next year than i have w/Speight

I've had optimism every year for my entire life and never witnessed a hint of success. It's time to be realistic. The saddest (or best in your opinion?) is I will be all in on us winning the national championship in 3 months. Just sick right now about excuses for Harbaugh when it's year 3 and he makes 9 mill a year.

I don't think any Michigan fan with a brain thought this year was the year. 2015 wasn't supposed to be the year but we were unexpectedly good. 2016 WAS supposed to be the year and we missed the playoffs by two plays. This year we have the youngest team in the US. Next year almost everyone is back.

gets it.

Only thing is that the o-line could again be the weak link of the team in 2018.

OTOH, maybe some of the young o-line guys (spanellis, steuber, filiaga, etc.) will end up being better.

In august people were most worried about CBs.  They ended up being excellent.  Maybe OL will work out that way in 2018.  I'll believe it when I see it though.

he was when he commtted here after all. A ton of talent but raw. His play today was really encouraging. i really liked his instincts in the pocket. Right now his footwork is too static and he misses some throws but he has a bright future- assuming the offensive line keeps him upright.

With Peters there was a chance. Geez. You guys are insufferable at times. We played #1 defensive team tough til he went out. Get a hold of your self. This team has endured lots of injuries and very young talent being thrown into each game this year. Coach will do what’s best fit for the team in the offseason. Until then always Go Blue!

Upvote all of my points! It’s just insufferable at times. However, we’ll just continue to get better and I’ll continue to support our young men. I’ve been a fan since I️ could read the letters, MICHIGAN. I️ was an early reader! Out of 128 teams there will be one team crowned! There are lots of positives that we can look to for this team and for the near future! We are down at least two starters on our o-line and our best BACKS are all injured. The negative vibe is easy to ride when we lose. However, some people are just never happy! Go Blue and I️ appreciate the young men who did play today, and I’m sure despite their injuries and hurt and pain that they suffered today. That they will come out and give it their all next weekend. Some people in our forum have only won at everything in life so they don’t even need a backup plan. Uh huh!

Just think of the jump he will make for next season. Tough year, but the boys have developed an o line, established an identity, and represented Michigan well. Next week will be tough and well get a crap bowl game. But next year should be pretty good.

All things considered, Peters did well for his 3rd career start in a very hostile environment. The fumble doesn't really bother me since there was no way he gets into the end zone of that run (I would have kicked the field goal that early in the game, since the ball was not inside the 5 yard line and points are at a premium in this contest). Most of the team did well aside from a few breakdowns here and there -until the late 3rd quarter. The in game injuries to higdon, Isaac, and peters really hurt the offensive momentum.

It doesn’t matter if we had Tom Brady as our Qb. If the offensive line can’t figure out how to pass block we will continue to get our QB’s murdered against good teams.
