Harbaugh is all about Michigan tradition. And the tradition is you play this game at noon.
November 2nd, 2015 at 10:44 AM ^
but it is always at noon, don't think Harbaugh plays in to things here.
The 3:30 start in 06 was completely legitimate given the circumstances and if a #1 v. #2 ever arose again they would do it again and I would have no problem with it.

November 2nd, 2015 at 11:15 AM ^
Nope. 3:30.
Wasn't 2003 a weirdo 1 or 1:30 kickoff?
November 2nd, 2015 at 11:25 AM ^
Actually, I think that was 2001 - I don't know if that was a product of 9/11 altering schedules and therefore television time slots or what though - I am pretty sure someone here might know the reason though because we are that sort of fan (and it is a beautiful thing). With rare exceptions, 2006 being the other one of recent note, it has been a noon start as far back as I can think.
November 2nd, 2015 at 11:40 AM ^
Per Bo Schembechler, a 1:00 kickoff (or 1:05) is/was not "weirdo."
November 2nd, 2015 at 12:06 PM ^
#1 v. #2 game only seems like 8:00 because it is almost December and it gets dark at like 4. Basically the entire game was under the lights but it was a 3:30 kick.

See you at High Noon Buckeyes

November 2nd, 2015 at 10:45 AM ^
actually would have been a "return" to tradition I think because I think it used to actually be a 1:00 PM kick. I don't remember why in that case though but I do remember it being at 1:00.

they were showing at 4:30 PM ET back on November 19, 2005. Golf.
November 2nd, 2015 at 10:50 AM ^
ABC had committed to broadcasting something else, and the only football slot they had for that Saturday was at 1pm.

I'm really not a fan of noon games for tailgate purposes but it will be nice that it will be played in daylight.
November 2nd, 2015 at 11:00 AM ^
but for those of us out west its a nice excuse to crack one before noon, just ask my wife!
November 2nd, 2015 at 2:51 PM ^
Well. That depends on your wife. You dig?
November 2nd, 2015 at 10:46 AM ^
Jesus man. When people are this emotionally attached to a game's start time they're taking this whole "tradition" thing a little too far and to a place it was never intended to go.
November 2nd, 2015 at 10:49 AM ^
are certain people who are but most are just glad to get the thing kicked off. The Game takes forever to get here and by that day it is just ready to get the show on the road.

OHH I get it. You are one of those "adults" that dress up in costumes and creep around aren't you? Halloween is for children, not adults.

I WILL ENJOY SPENDING MUCH OF THE SECOND HALF IN THE INTERMINABLE IMMINGRATION LINE AT KENNEDY AIRPORT EVEN THOUGH I HAVE GLOBAL ENTRY BECAUSE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS CLEARLY A NOTRE DAME FAN IN SOME SORT OF METAPHPORICAL SENSE IN THAT THEY ARE INTO WEIRD RACIAL PSYCHOSEXUAL STUFF. GOD I AM SO ANNOYED THAT I AM MISSING THE GAME.
November 2nd, 2015 at 11:42 AM ^
Who, exactly, decided you should fly on the day of The Game? I suspect not the Federal Government.
