Freshman Numbers Revealed

Love Justin Turner wearing #2. Pretty bold statement. And Nadar Furrha the next Brian Griese at #14.
26 Isaiah Bell LB 6-1 220
73 William Campbell DT 6-5 318
5 Vladimir Emilien S 6-1 198
5 Tate Forcier QB 6-1 188
29 Jeremy Gallon SR 5-8 165
34 Brendan Gibbons PK 6-0 229
84 Cameron Gordon WR 6-2 208
15 Thomas Gordon S 5-11 205
7 Brandin Hawthorne LB 6-0 198

4 Je'Ron Stokes WR 6-0 181
28 Fitzgerald Toussaint RB 5-9 185
2 J.T. Turner CB 6-2 187
76 Quinton Washington OL 6-3 325
3 Adrian Witty CB 5-10 166
like Turner at #2 and having a WR in Stokes as a #4.
I'm not a fan, however, of Denard as #16. 16 seems like a lot of fabric to weight the guy down and ruin his speed. Damn you football gods!
Also, I noticed Craig Roh is listed as an OLB. That seems new to me. When did this happen?
Looks like that old Navarre jersey can be worn anew.
Spinner.
Quick
Quick.
Quick.
Quick
Are you sure?
Quick.
Deathbacker.
But we don't need to worry about Denard Wearing #16. By the time he leaves he'll make it cool.
Je'Ron Stokes hoping to be the next David Terrell? Hopefully without the NFL faceplant.
Who was wearing 86 last year? I'm having a brainfart...I bought my Super Mario jersey a few years ago and I'm too cheap to buy a new one...
I believe.
Beat me to it.
But about Stokes wearing 4, doesn't this seem awkward, seeing as Brandon Minor is also 4? I've seen the doubling up of numbers, but never both on the same side of the ball. Does this mean that both cannot be on the field at the same time?
Yes, if players have the same number they cannot be on the field at the same time.
That seems kind of idiotic.
Just adds to the mystery of Rich Rodriguez's version of The Spread.
R.R.'s version of the spread now conseals players identities.
Redshirt?
Or Marquise Walker. Didn't David Terrell wear #1?
yea, as I said below... I mixed up the two. Both did faceplant, though.
Terrell wore #1. Marquise Walker wore #4 on those teams. Still, the next Marquise Walker would be nice. He held quite a few records until Braylon's arrival.
I'd take the next Ty Streets if it got us in a Bowl game.
Terrell wore #1. Marquise Walker wore #4.
EDIT: I really should read these threads through before responding.
how 2 players can wear the same number ... i understand that they wont be on the field at the same time ... but really we dont need to have over 100 players on game day (i dont think we even can?)
As far as I know, we can have as many as we want for home games, but only 85 can be on scholarship. Also, even if we have less than 100 for each game, which guys are left off are different for almost every game. You can't reassign numbers throughout the season because you have a different guy taking a spot.
Keep in mind also that there are 5 numbers retired, so you only have 94 options (can't use zero).
it just messes with me to have dual numbers even if i never seem to struggle to know who the player is ... just seems odd
We always have well over a hundred players on the team, and there are only 94 available numbers. Doubling up is inevitable. Anyway, I'm pretty sure we're allowed to dress everybody for home games (and also bowls).
JeRon Stokes being number 4 is either a mistake or he will red-shirt.
Barring a jersey change.
roster, and Stokes is #6 now.
Kelvin Grady - 19
Official Mgoblue.com has Witty wearing #13, not #3. Couldn't be #3 with S. Brown wearing #3. Witty will be the next Brad Cochran.
Walker wore #4 Terrell was # 1 his whole time at M.
I think the 4 for stokes seems odd. I didn't think he was a RS candidate with how high coach Rod was of him in the signing day presser.
Side note: Denard got his HS #
nice of Cone to switch for him
Good call, I did confuse the two... Marquise Walker also faceplanted, though.
Did have this catch though.
/points at Avatar.
Blew my mind when I saw it live.
Rumor has it that Coner and DROB had a battle on the MIC for the number, and as we all can see, DROB won. That DROB has got mad skills.
If it was a rap battle the coner might of won. Dude has mad skills
Gallon. Mad speed. Love it.
Going through the roster, I was struck by the massive infusion of walk-ons. RR is being very aggressive in giving out preferred walk-ons. This is great in the era of 85 scholarships. Especially excited about OLs Adam Barker from Adrian and Tom Lindley from New York. Both those guys had other D1 offers but wanted to come here. Also FB Jonny Childers from Muskegon.
I'm with you on that. I especially like the # of walk-ons because of how RR said he was going to use the fullback position as being a walk-on promoted to scholarship.
wow..there are a ton of freshmen walk-ons
A few of the walk-ons even came from out of state. Paying out of state tuition would suck. I was especially surprised at how many OL men walked on. Hopefully some of them will pan out.
39 Eddie Murray PK
!!
how is he not out of eligibility?
On a serious kicker note I am anxious to see if seth broekhuizen can get a chance. I have seen him kick and he has a monster leg.
Jeremy Gallon wearing 29 seems counterintuitively awesome. I would have pegged him for something symmetrical, like 8 or 22 (11 is retired, I believe, for the Wistert brothers). 29 is innocuous. He's coming out of nowhere! Ha-cha-cha-cha!
wouldnt be surprised if somebody pounces on Feagin's #3
