I took the numbers from

I took the numbers from Pomeroy's profile for us. The three point percentage is 35.7 but thetwo point percentage is 54.7 (which is good for eighth nationally).

Thanks for the link!

I did actually take a look at 3PA vs. Offensive Efficiency and pretty much came to the same conclusion that you did. Games like the last one at Northwestern where we shoot a bunch of threes and only make a few are less than ideal. Given our 3 point and 2 point percentages, our value of a three point shot is 1.071 points per shot, and our two point shot is worth 1.094 points per shot. Since I'm assuming that there's lower variance for two point shooting on a game-by-game basis, putting up more twos (which are often easier looks, particularly in the context of our offense) is the optimal strategy. Interestingly, we shot the fewest amount of threes all year at home against Ohio State, and won. We only made three.

Draymond is not that good

Contrary to popular belief. He was 3-14 from the field in Ann Arbor last year.

I'd take it with a grain of salt too -- I didn't really notice the technique too much but I just quoted an opposing player verbatim.

I guess it's not totally clear because I didn't include it in my text to Ace, but I got most of my impressions on Braden from my brother. He was on the defense against Rockford, and I asked him what he thought right after the game, so what he said about Braden was said in the heat of battle. I agreed with what he said about Braden, but didn't see (or couldn't tell) that he held a lot.

Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State

Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State is the perfect example of a big brother vs. little brother game.

I'm a big fan of Lewis; my brother is currently a linebacker on a team that's going to play the Big Reds this year so I'll have to ask him what he thinks of Juwan. In another year and in another class I'd love to have him, but with Houma in the fold (who I think could be a running back if we have Iowa-level depth) and the current numbers crunch, I'm not sure I'd take him.

Great interview Ace.

And Morgan did kill it in the OK-Red. I saw it firsthand; there aren't too many like him out here in West Michigan.

Gotta get him in the youth football program for next year :)

Our "rivalry" with Rockford has dropped off a lot too; seems like yesterday that Rockford, EK, and Grandville were at the top.

It's changed a lot over the past ten years or so. I'll concede that it's definitely a few over-zealous fans that give bad name to the rest though.

I said "Ohio State-like", there are many differences -- subtle as they may be -- that separate the two. Illegally recruiting players would be a prime example.

That's a part of it, but

That's a part of it, but there's something special about Rockford. And I don't think people hate Michigan solely because of the success; the arrogance can be irritating.

Students aren't terribly bad, I mean yeah they are but not significantly more than your big high school. The success there has a lot to do with it but their fanbase is arrogant, stuck-up, and rude. It's like an Ohio State-like atmosphere there with the combination of an obscene devotion to athletics, a very irritating superiority complex, and a tradition of success.

I live on the west side of Michigan and no one here has gotten theirs either.

Plus it will be harder for Nebraska to come in and win immediately. We can say "look, this was a great team that entered, but they still onlly got to eight wins!" That's the ideal scenario for us, but I think they'll surpass eight easily.

I'd say that Nebraska,

I'd say that Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Ohio State are the pretty clear favorites, with Michigan State and maybe Penn State as the darkhorses. Michigan, Northwestern, Illinois and Iowa could make some noise though, although they probably won't contend. I'd say it's pretty wide open and there will be upsets; it's just that Nebraska and Wisconsin will rise to the top IMO.

Thank you, and yeah, I have a pretty good idea of where I'm at and who I am. Fortunately my desire to remember the football games will limit any potential hijinks.
