While HD did very well against Garza, Davis also had a number of very good defensive pressures on Garza too, forcing tougher shots than Garza expected, some of which rolled out or were just misses.  Yes, Garza also torched Davis a bit too, but not nearly as much as one would have expected going in.

Davis is luxury off the bench, his footwork continues to impress on O.  Glad Howard invited him back.

the hooks were even worse than usual.  there was one play were you literally couldn't see the number one the back of dickinson's jersey because garza's forearm was in the way.  it was obvious in real-time, THEN, on the replay, vitale is drooling all over garza's inside moves.  puh-leeez, are you even LOOKING at your monitor?

I'm not super up on the rules, but back in my basketball days I remember that if you keep your hand on the ball, you can use that respective elbow to turn and pivot against the defender (as long as you don't hit the defender in the head blatantly).  It's when you take your hand of the ball and use your elbow/arm/hand to "hook" the player is when you get into trouble.

This is precisely why Garza's game won't translate to the NBA at all in it's current state.  When matched up with a similarly in skill and sized big man, he does not score or shoot well.  He looked frustrated and dejected when they showed him at the end of the bench in the waning minutes of the 4th.

I specifically watched for Garza and HD to meet after the game, but nope.  Garza left the court before Michigan could even congratulate themselves.  And then that Fran presser...

I get being upset about getting torched, but the grow the fuck up and show some sportsmanship.

He said there were "a couple of possessions where they affected my shot," but that otherwise, he was just off. Minimal credit to the defense.

To be fair, he just suffered a crushing loss and some of the questions - like the one about losing to every top10 team they've played - were a bit rough.

That said, credit your opponent, man! You were off because they forced you to be off.

Fran McCaffery is one of those guys that you assume right away is a jerk -  so much that you then wonder if you're being unfair to him.  Nope, he is one.

Seems pretty on-brand for Fran who is normally seen yelling about something. A guy who's normally that pissed off is gonna be real unhappy when he just got his ass kicked for 40 minutes. Probably irate the refs dared call Garza for one of his many uncalled fouls

All I heard in the post game press conference by Michigan was how good a team Iowa is. Juwan and his players that spoke had much respect for that program.

Too bad Iowa didn't return the respect. I hope that Michigan takes note of that and if they face Iowa again, can play with even more focus and beat them again.

In addition, Michigan had more fouls called on them than Iowa did so only sour grapes for that tram that got thrashed and trashed during the second of half of the game.
