The End of the Tour

Has anyone else watched this movie as a direct result of Brian's post 'A Funeral For Geese'?

I'm halfway through at the moment, it's a slow burn but actually quite interesting.

It all depends on your definition as to what makes an airport bad. O'hare is bad in terms of weather delays, and potential long distances in the terminal between connecting flights. In effect you are more likely to get stuck there for an extended period. On the other hand if you are going to be stuck in an airport for an extended period, it is one of the better airports to be stuck at in terms of food and bar choices. And- as one who was stuck there a couple of weeks ago all night- it has both a 24 hour McDonalds and a 24 hour Dunkin Donuts.

100% honesty: I started crying and left work early the day I learned of DFW's death, and I have not been able to read or watch any of the content that's been produced about his life.  I'll re-read an essay or short story every once in a while, and I re-read IJ when my wife finally realized how much it meant to me and read it for the first time, but I don't think anything positive I'd get out of something like "The End of the Tour" would outweigh how sad it would make me.

I've come close to hitting play numerous times, but every time I see Jason Segel in that bandana......I just can't do it. It feels like it is just going to be infuriating.

FWIW, the obituary here for David Foster Wallace--which itself was posted the Monday morning after a similarly disastrous loss against Notre Dame--is still fantastic: https://mgoblog.com/content/dfw
