Announcing one week from today, a day after his visit is pretty significant.
He walked past me a few times at the Spring Game and looked to be having a great time. Lots of kids asking for a picture/autograph.

I only get autographs at sanctioned signings when the players can receive payment for the signing at the event after they leave Michigan.
Frankly, I think getting recruits to sign things is silly. What happens if they don't come here?
Then you have the eBay whores, which are just the absolute worst. One of if not the biggest reason Fan Day is no longer a thing at Michigan.
Take a look at this-

Taking advantage of a kid who is not even on campus yet, much less taken a snap is pretty ridiculous.

He has the option to decline an autograph request. I just don't see who is harmed here.
I don't mind kids getting an autograph, or true fans. What I DON'T like are guys my age getting a bunch of autographs just so they can turn around and sell them to someone else. I understand the desire for a "certificate of authenticity," but somehow the whole idea of having jerseys or posters or mini helmets signed with the sig of someone who might be famous someday just seems . . . pathetic? Some of the man caves overstuffed with all this stuff are just too much, imhe.
My personal opinion is that as an adult, it is weird to ask a teenager for an autograph, fan or no. Kids are fine. Adults getting autographs for their kids are fine. Adults having an 17-year-old sign a jersey for their basement - that shit is weird.
Charity events that offer great, often signed merchandise (the Chad Tough Gala coming up is a good example). If you're gonna snag some great gear, do it for a good cause (if you have the money) - not some shill artist.

Sure he does. Then when word of that gets out, people like you will be hammering him for being arrogant and fan-unfriendly.

You might at age 17. But say you don't go on to have a good enough football career to capitalize on it monetarily. I can see where you might look back annoyed that people were making thousands of your autograph and not one cent of it came to you.
Until you graduate from a Top 5 public university for free, have amazing memories playing football, and then look back at the people who profited thousands of dollars off of your signature use to subsidize their bartending job at Olive Garden.

you'll gladly buy a Nike McCaffrey jersey when he's starting in 3 years despite him not seeing a penny of it then either, right?
I just purchased a jumpman jersey. we switched again...?
We (public) cannot buy a Jumpman McCaffrey jersey. The closest we can get is a Jumpman jersey with his number and no name, but that in theory can be for any player who has ever worn that #.
I guess you can get a cheap replica from China, but then everybody loses (Nike, McC, Mich, local store...).

Where do you think the "real" ones are made?

Those crappy fakes are so easy to spot. It's hilarious.

If I'm the student-athlete, I would be upset if I saw this posted(or any other signed or merchandise with my name or likeness). If I'm not allowed to make money, then why should someone else make money off of my name?

Brevin Jordan looked like he was having a great time too. How'd that work out?

The talk was that he was headed to Miami after his visit there. All along.

Sat in Section 23.
That's a pretty cool spot to sit in for the spring game, because all the recruits and former players sit in the lower rows in the roped off section.
Wheatley Sr. was actually there which was pretty cool.
Who gives a shit where you sat or should I say SAT. Geez

That gif was one of the best parts of the coaching search.
After, you know, actually getting Harbaugh and drinking the tears of our rivals and media.
Las Vegas...

Well it's easy from here to make the call - just watch what shirt he wears when he does his workouts this week.

I heard he's been hanging out with UCLA commits all week after school.

Seems like the major obstacle is that he has Peters and Mcaffrey in the 2 classes prior.

taking one of the other targets is likely
One thing Najee Harris liked about Bama's pitch was that he doesn't have to be the man. Since NFL RB's have short careers, he can spend three years in college in a timeshare situation and save a pounding to his body. That way his body stands a better chance of a longer NFL career.
Maybe Harbaugh can sell him on 3-4 years of NFL-level coaching preparing him better than whatever is going on with Josh Rosen. He seemed to go from sure fire #1 pick to "Poor damn Josh Rosen". DTR may like the pitch where he gets 2-3 years of prime tutelage and one full year to showcase his skills without getting the type of pounding and injuries that Rosen suffered in his second season.
