Do yourself a favor and don’t look at ND’s remaining schedule

Scheduling that game was not smart. Notre Dame needs Michigan on the schedule. Michigan does not need ND on the schedule. Until we figure out how to win games on the road, we should stop scheduling them.

Stanford, at Virginia tech, at usc

also, they play FSU which would normally be a top 10 team. Northwestern has been solid recently.

I disagree with everything about your post, especially your fear of them going undefeated.  It will not happen.

It is what it is, if we would play them now I’d bet we would play better than we did in game one. It’s very hard to judge this team, no one knows how good we might be when the big games come rolling up...

Today was a very good showing for our offense. Even tho Nebraska dropped their first 2 games their defensive line leading up to our game looked pretty damn good to the eye, not sure on their statistics. But I’d rather build the steel in our spines week 1 than later

Eh an ideal situation for Michigan if you want to make the playoff is probably like a 10-2 Nd. An undefeated or 1 loss Nd is getting in over Michigan. So is bama and that only leaves two spots for theoretical michagan, pac12 champ, and big 12 champ plus like a 1 loss Georgia

Close to correct ak. A one loss Notre Dame team would not surpass a one loss Michigan even with the head to head win. We would have defeated osu, msu , psu, Wisconsin twice. We would be riding a 12 game winning streak with a single loss on the road to Notre Dame where we outgained then. We would be conference champions. They would have beat us and Virginia tech and usc with no championship game. (Assuming loss to Stanford). The committee loves conference champions.  They don’t like teams that sit out championship weekend unless that team is Alabama.

Does it really matter if Michigan schedules ND until they can consistently beat PSU/MSU/OSU?  It goes both ways.  So many people around here seem to think after beating a few shitty teams that UM is going to win 10 games now.

Yea, iti is what it is. Should we have played Arkansas and told ND  no thanks? Probably, did we benefit from Playing a very tough game on the road in the opener? Well we lost so thats not good but we played them close and sometimes you can learn alot from a loss like that, IE we have scored 45 or more points in three straight games, not bad. Also consider next year, we will get ND at home instead of going on the road to Arkansas.

I dont think the loss to ND hurts us at all for the big10, possibly may hurt us for the playoff but whatever, I just really want to win the big10 this year.

Yep, just like 2012.  They'll get key flags to keep their paper tiger intact.  Let fuckin Tirico slobber all over them as they beat Navy in overtime or whatever.

I was glad when the series was cancelled, and bummed when it resumed.  I wanted us to play Arkansas home-and-home, for variety, and for not having to play more PI-flag-strewn nightmare games in South Bend.

Why our program and fans insist on continuing this series, despite so many voodoo-ish inexplicable losses down there -- with no commensurate credit when we beat them -- I guess will always be beyond me.

I hate Notre Dame more than any of our rivals.  I don't hate them because I'm a Michigan fan.  I hate them because I'm a college football fan that wishes they didn't exist.

Plus Brian Kelly is an objectively awful person, and we already have enough of those on our schedule.

Bo had it exactly right.  To Hell with Notre Dame.

Except, you know Harbaugh basically made it a precursor  for coming here.

Lets face it.  A non big 10 champion Michigan is not getting into the playoffs.  That basically means beating OSU or getting 5 lucky dominos to fall.

Well, a 2-loss Michigan might not be getting in now, even with a Big 10 championship.  Especially if they are ranked right behind a 1-loss ND who beat them head-to-head.

Every loss is huge.  Scheduling that game and losing another South Bend shitshow removed the margin for error.  Lose a tight one to Wisconsin or MSU and we're done.

Don’t care. If they make the playoff so be it. They’ll have earned the right to get skullfucked by Alabama yet again. They are NOT winning it all.

By the way, their schedule may be stupid easy this year, but look at it next year: at Georgia, at Michigan, at Stanford, and a potential trap game first week of the season at Louisville. That’s three or four games that could very easily be losses right here, right now.

ND winning out= good for us. The better they look, the better we look for only losing by 7.

It sucks having to root for them for selfish purposes, but that's the way it worked this year.

I don't have to like it.
