Derrick Green not traveling to Citrus Bowl
I know we've heard speculation that Derrick Green may wind up transferring after getting burried on the depth chart and even more so now after the verbal committment of Karreem Walker. It's stil unclear if that will happen, but this is just another peice of information regarding the once highly touted running back. Here's the link:

Lost in the recruiting rankings was the cold hard fact that he wasn't a running back.
Green was a chunky high school offensive lineman who turned into a workout freak, but never had the balance or the vision of a natural running back.

Green was like 300 lbs his freshman year of HS and did some crazy hardcore workouts for several years to become the number the number one ranked RB recruit. Maybe he lost his way in college, but he definitely had some work ethic in HS after his FR year.

I had so much hope. He should have redshirted in '13. He was in no shape to contribute. He actually was looking alright before his injury last year.

Have you gotten any better at 8 gin and tonics than Green did at falling after first contact?

it's more like 4 out of 5 pan out and turn into pros. But yes, your general point is correct that it's not a given. He was the one out of five that didn't work out.

Thus is scientifically based on Kevin Grady and Derrick Green.

Isaac showed some big play ability--which Green has never shown--before contracting a nasty case of the fumblitis. He might be a nice candidate for a move to h-back.

Other than that he didn't show much except for his ability to fumble the ball.....

Yes. And you both remember it...because he showed such big play ability.

I know that recruiting write-ups aren't everything, but when you bring in well-rated RB's and still don't have a running game, at some point, you need to look at the OL or the coaching. Granted that Green didn't show any bright flashes of ability that might suggest he has a future as a producitve Big Ten back, but still.
i wish him well...IF he leaves.

Very dissappointed in some of the cheesy comments above. The kid may have left the team or perhaps has some other issue. However, I will take issue with the mean comments from above! Derrick Green is still a Michigan Wolverine and Wolverines Do not eat their own. Apparently some of those above either started New Year's Eve early or just returned from Walmart disgruntled.

Just because his name is Derrick no need for hysterics.

So . . . . as we sit right here and now, who is going to tank in the future that we are all hyped up about right now? Spill it.

Lamar Wilson. His mother is currently pregnant with him--the delivery is scheduled for next week. Rivals already has him listed as a 5 star for the class of 2034. It's all hype.

If he wants to start, he's going to have to bulk up a bit. Depending on his development I could see him as either a dominant 3-Tech or a smallish punter, only time will tell!

That 4.4 speed he claims earns 4 fakes out of 4. He hasn't even been born yet!
