Dabo Swinney's 81,500 person pizza party, illustrated

Submitted by justingoblue on

ESPN has a pretty cool little article describing what an undertaking a Death Valley sized pizza party would be after Swinney was quoted saying:

I promise you we will have the biggest poll party you've ever seen. We'll open up Death Valley and serve pizza to everybody on December 6th. That will be a time to celebrate a poll.

in an attempt to downplay Clemson's top spot in the first CFP committee rankings. At retail, Swinney would be on the hook for a $152,000 tab at a campus pizzeria.

I'm sure this would contribute to the "Brand" that Brandon kept referring to.  Heck, he can pump some rawk music in, hand out legends numbers, and respond to emails in his typical manner.

Granted, Clemson isn't quite the tradition rich program of Michigan, but I don't underestimate his ability to ruin everything.

Right before you pay him, imagine the look on everyone's face when the driver says, "Could I get maybe 40 or so people to help me unload the complimentary crazy bread?"

Also, I'd make the delivery just for the potential tip alone - for the sake of providing a number, 15% on $152,000 would be a $22,800 tip. I could find things to do with that money certainly, like plan a business that specialized in these long-haul, large-scale pizza deliveries.

Wait a minute. Does the top pizza box need to be open like that for the stack to be taller than the Empire State Building? If not, this is great. If so, meh.

I was thinking of getting a lovely pizza tonight. I might go with a birger, though. Not really sure yet. It will be, of course, coupled with beer. A friend of mine is visiting and brought Great Lakes Oatmeal Stout. I'm excited to try it.

Something is wrong with that math or they're figuring on people only having a couple slices.

If there are 81,000 people, and each one eats half a pizza, that's 40,500 pizzas.

If each pizza box is 2" high, that's 90,000" - or 6,750'.   Over a mile high!!

When I was in high school a college recruiter took my physics class out for pizza. Me and a couple guys were like, how much pizza you buying? All we could eat. I ate 2 larges and came in third in the contest. He bought 16 pizzas for 10 people. 3 of our 8 person class went to his college. I think Dabo gonna need JG Wentworth if he buys pizza for 81000 people
