Army Pre-game
Michigan is going all out for this one. I am a little surprised this hasn’t been announced on MGoBlue.com yet. Edit: there is something on MGoBlue.Com, but you have to dig for it.
Michigan has been planning for this event for a long time. There will be flyovers that include Black Hawk UH-60's, Chinook CH-47's, Lakota UH-72's, Parachute Jump, and several U.S. Army static displays in and around the Stadium. The Black Hawk’s are a sight to see up close. When they come in low and slow over the scoreboards get your cell phones ready. Edit: The Black Daggers (USASOC) are doing the jump, you are in for a special treat. Beat Army x 2 this year!

Hoping for more flyovers during the game, than before it!
September 3rd, 2019 at 7:32 PM ^
Wait..... you can edit a board post now!?
September 3rd, 2019 at 7:41 PM ^
caveat: must be UMBig11 to edit
September 3rd, 2019 at 7:45 PM ^
Wait, not everyone can do that? :)
September 3rd, 2019 at 7:51 PM ^
Next thing you'll know, umbig11's points are probably still working too!
September 3rd, 2019 at 7:35 PM ^
Will they be shooting down any stray drones? That would be cool
September 3rd, 2019 at 7:46 PM ^
Awwwww, are you referring to the one captured on AAGO? I do have a back story on that.
September 3rd, 2019 at 8:13 PM ^
go on...
September 3rd, 2019 at 8:35 PM ^
Likely belonged to a Mork DiGiorno slappy. Mork is driving right now to pick him up from prison so he can film practices
September 3rd, 2019 at 9:15 PM ^
C'mon, umbig11---you tease us on the "back story" and then don't deliver???
I saw that drone overhead late in the game, it was up there above The Big House for several minutes before suddenly darting away over the south end of the stadium.
A little bit unnerving to see something like that, I was hoping it belonged to law enforcement and was legit rather than an unauthorized flyover.
September 3rd, 2019 at 9:46 PM ^
It was definitely not law enforcement. That thing had some messages on it and dropped some pamphlets. Two were arrested within 24 hours. People need to understand the FAA, Michigan, and no-fly zones. State, local, and Federal took this one very seriously. It was huge.
September 3rd, 2019 at 9:49 PM ^
Thanks for the info, glad they got busted for it.
September 3rd, 2019 at 11:01 PM ^
It's a toy. But apparently this is where we are as a country.
September 4th, 2019 at 9:37 AM ^
You're obviously never rigged said toy with enough plastic explosives to bring down an apartment complex.
September 3rd, 2019 at 10:39 PM ^
Prank pamphlets (or political) or just a terribly misguided attempt at company marketing?
September 3rd, 2019 at 10:43 PM ^
It was the MSU AD channeling his inner Dave Brandon dropping Go Sparty Go leaflets.
September 4th, 2019 at 6:31 AM ^
Not prank or corporate. It wasn’t being used as a toy.
September 4th, 2019 at 9:25 AM ^
Umbig11,
Why not just say what it is?
September 4th, 2019 at 11:17 PM ^
According to r/cfb the pamphlets were for a fake ID service.
September 3rd, 2019 at 7:41 PM ^
Blackhawks flew over Canton stadium when I went to watch Art Monk and Darrell Green get inducted into the hall of fame and it was the coolest fly over I've ever seen at a event. Really awesome to see in person.
September 3rd, 2019 at 7:42 PM ^
Should be a good show. Hope that’s where the “fireworks” end for Army.
September 3rd, 2019 at 7:45 PM ^
America! Fuck yeah! Comin' around to save the motherfuckin' day yeah!
September 4th, 2019 at 3:41 AM ^
We got a bootlegged copy of team America world police from an Iraqi and watched it just about everyday for a few weeks while cleaning our weapons after various missions. You would think we would have gotten bored because people in the theatre kept walking in front of the camera throughout the movie and the camera was slightly tilted. But it took us a surprisingly long time to eventually stop watching it.
September 3rd, 2019 at 7:57 PM ^
MICHIGAN! ARMY! AMERICA!!
September 3rd, 2019 at 8:03 PM ^
NEAT!!!!!!!!
September 3rd, 2019 at 8:22 PM ^
An email usually comes out from Michigan Athletics with details for the larger pregame shows.
September 3rd, 2019 at 8:35 PM ^
This is the most I have seen on it...

Would've figured there would be some sort of recognition for the baseball run at some game but nothing listed.
September 3rd, 2019 at 10:08 PM ^
I bet it happens during the Michigan State game.
Nothing listed for teams to be honored during that and the Ohio State game, but there's no way we go an entire season without an on-field ceremony to recognize their accomplishments this past season.
September 4th, 2019 at 8:53 AM ^
I assume they wait until everybody is finished with their minor league baseball playoffs in mid-to-late September so all of the drafted players (Brewer, Kerr, Kauffmann, Henry) have an opportunity to be there too.
September 3rd, 2019 at 8:40 PM ^
Go NAVY!!!
Oh, wait...
September 3rd, 2019 at 8:43 PM ^
...and all it costs is one million chop blocks.
September 3rd, 2019 at 8:46 PM ^
You will know army went all out if you can't hear the Helos.
Also, demonstrating to 110k fans with millions on the network is a good use of funds from the mil perspective. You want it to be good people with guns, if any at all.
September 3rd, 2019 at 9:22 PM ^
Go Navy! Beat Army!
September 3rd, 2019 at 9:22 PM ^
September 3rd, 2019 at 9:28 PM ^
Awesome news.
Two questions: 1) will there be a way to see the pregame on tv or otherwise remotely? 2) How were you able to edit the OP?!
September 3rd, 2019 at 9:30 PM ^
Are the black daggers going to take out each others' knees?
September 3rd, 2019 at 10:07 PM ^
Going to be tough to beat the first time Rocketman entered Michigan Stadium and hovered over the students. To date that is the best pre-game moment I have seen in 28 years of attendance.
Easy to beat the second Rocketman show with a bullshit skit on the video board and inclusion of the drunk ass school president and ego maniac athletic director.
Looking forward to pre-game Saturday!!

Respect Army. Play hard to win the game. Go Blue !!!
September 4th, 2019 at 12:26 AM ^
Can Michigan play Army without further contributing to the militarization of college football?
September 4th, 2019 at 5:36 AM ^
Nope.
God Bless America!
September 4th, 2019 at 10:48 AM ^
I'm glad that I'm not the only one with this perspective. And its not just college football. MLB and NFL are awash in sponsorship dollars from the US Military. https://www.wbur.org/onlyagame/2018/07/20/military-sports-astore-francona
As an engineer, I can appreciate a fighter jet more than most, but let us not forget what those devices are -- implements of destruction.
I truly appreciate the sacrifice the men and women of the military are willing to make. I don't appreciate what our politicians are asking our military to do. And putting the military front and center in the public is an effort to desensitize the public of what our military is doing around the world in our name.

"I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend."
September 4th, 2019 at 9:35 PM ^
That quote isn't applicable in a world where the military goal is hegemony, not national defense.
September 4th, 2019 at 7:47 AM ^
Boeing CH-47 Chinooks are freaggn bad ass... I really hope the men and women of Army are shown great respect before and after the game... But I also hope they get drug during the game...
September 4th, 2019 at 9:04 AM ^
That all depends on which drug, I suppose
September 4th, 2019 at 9:14 AM ^
Go Army, beat everyone AFTER 9/7.
