MSU AD tweet after the game...ooops
MSU AD Mark Hollis Tweeted this after the game::
@MSUAD: When choosing between a great season and a great program, I will always choose the program. #SpartanPride
Lets just there is some abuse coming back. He did try to backtrack later:
@MSUAD I have respect for every team in the #BigTen Conference. My reference is focused only on MSU. No disrespect intended
but I think the damage was done.
Let me go find my broom...
to his football team
I know your post was only seven words, but if mgoblog had an award, I would nominate it for post of the year, "smarmy comments to deserving targets" catagory.
Excellent.

That's a Hall of Fame post.
This guy is a walking PR disaster. I love it.
...Twitter... It tends to reveal true feelings! LOL
That the Maize and blue stomped all over them.
Even their AD acts like a little brother.
This is great. It just shows they have a schmuck at the top. I have zero respect for their football and basketball teams and coaches. Hahahaha Staee, even your AD is a joke.
Is that burning couch I smell?
You know, some people just shouldn't be allowed around computers.
Great
Thank you for adding to the discussion.
I was skeptical, but then I went to his signing day blog entry. This pic of Hoke might be the worst one he could have conceivably picked. A pic of him wearing SDSU attire would have been better.
What do you expect from Little Brother?
Also, very surprised any AD would do something like that after a loss. I am sure that he is proud of his program, but it comes across as petty and casts the school in a poor light. Whole lot of whining coming out of EL after being beaten by the better team twice this season. And it's not just the players - Izzo and Hollis are two of the most recognizable members of the athletics department and both are acting rather petulant.
....basically calls the season a disaster before it's even over. Way to throw the players and coaches under the bus. They still have a chance at all their preseason goals except a regular season B1G title. What an idiot for tweeting something impulsive like that.
Guy's a sore loser, I remember his big chill comments.
what did he say after the big chill?
I don't remember exactly, but something along the lines of "oh, MSU did it first, now everybody's doing it, so I don't see why anyone's impressed by the Big Chill." Or something to that effect.
"...it isn't rocket science anymore"
The direct quote, but what he basicly said was that the big chill was great but the cold war was the greatest ever, and that every outdoor hockey game since than got the idea from them. It was so hard when MSU did it, but now anyone can do it because it's so easy.
"When you know what I know, it's easy to say that I have never been prouder of Coach Izzo. He believes in kids, families, and what is right."
He forgot to add, "He also loves Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Chevrolet."
You know who else is a biatch?
I only wonder why he backed off from it. I agree 100%. That's what I've been saying to the arrogant Sparties about thier first shared Big Ten football championship in 20 years.
OH
and I mean it disrespectully.
if he was proud when half of the Football team was in Jail?
Very proud to participate in the East Lansing Correctional Work Release program. I hear it's a great program.
in the D-Mo trash talk thread need to come over here. Difference? A sophomore player in the heat of an intense game, versus 2 grown men in Izzo (and his whiny post-game comments) and this assclown.
This is a perfect quote for football right from little brothers mouth
You guys got it all wrong. The tweet was made after the Alabama game this year referring to George Perles' days as coach.
hmmphh... This blog is usually big on accuracy.
NateVolk,
Have you ever used Twitter before?
Someone should keep this guy away from Twitter. His remarks come off as juvenile and bush-league ... not a good way to represent a Big 10 AD.
Spartan Fans are all over this tweet, proclaiming how much class it is for him to talk like this.
I thought that pride was supposed to come before the fall, not after it...
That's a great quote.

This is more delusion than pride
Nuff said 93-71
If you click the #spartanpride link it comes up "page does not exist". Just like spartan pride.
Just to be clear, there is no such thing as "spartan pride". There is only Michigan disdain from spartan fans. State could go 1-11 if football, 2-16 in basketball (conference) and it would be "a good year" as long as those lone wins were against Michigan.
what a bitch
And not to continue to harp on this comment, but Hollis is also the AD for a program that thought planting its flag in South Bend because it beat a couple of mediocre ND teams a couple of years ago was completely acceptable.
The best part was the next year when ND beat state in the monsoon. Smith sent his captains out to 50 yeard line after the loss so the Irish couldn't plan a flag in retaliation. Of course, ND had no intention of doing so b/c 1) they aren't that classless and 2) its only State. So three or fourt Spartan players stood their with their cranks in their hands slowly realizing that they looked like fools.
He probably should have added that they have only been the better program for 10 years. If he was referencing the history of the two programs, our basketball team arguably has the better history. Although it is awesome he thinks so highly of such a small period of time that will undoubtedly come to an end when Izzo retires.
