Contract around 6-7 million. Rooney interview to be rushed, hire announced tomorrow.

I heard that.  It was just a rambling conspiracy theory that Terry Foster mumbled after Valenti shook him awake.  I wouldn't put too much stock in it, unless it's reported by someone not fresh out of a coma.

I guess the Dolphins were so happy with their experience with Nick Saban, they decided to hire another hot college coach.  I wonder how well Harbaugh will work out for Miami if the player personnel people in the front office don't see eye-to-eye with Harbaugh on talent, or if Harbaugh can't work with the GM.

And, as for the rushed Rooney Rule interview, I hope every affirmative action candidate that the Dolphins contact declines to interview.  it would serve the Dolphins right for making a mockery of the process.

This really sucks.  Not only is he spurning my college team, but also going to a rival team in the NFL.  Why do you have to break my heart, Jimmy?

I wouldn't worry if I were Pats fans.  They have a stranglehold on that division.  Plus between them and ol' Foot Fetish up there in New York, Harbaugh is going to have a tough time winning considering the talent, or lack thereof, that is on the Dolphins' roster.

hopefully now and forever. If he didn't want the Michigan job when we needed him most, I don't want to hear his name come up 5 years from now should we be in search of a coach and he is washing out of the NFL.

I doubt he'll get 6-7 million.

<br>When the whole story comes out, assuming he goes to the NFL, it'll end up being in the 5s somewhere.

More rumor-mongering - just heard on ESPN Radio that JH talked with DB today.  Anyone else hear that?  Or did I miss this posted somewhere in the 300 replies to each of the threads?

It goes against everything we're hearing but I thought I'd toss it out there.

Could Kirk Ferentz slip in there as a contender ?  Seems like he might be getting stale at Iowa and with the recent discipline problems he may be wanting out.   Apparently he was born in Royal Oak...doesn't qualify him, but throwing another good coach out there.

4-5 million in Michigan or 6-8 million in Miami?  Might not have been that close.  I love Michigan more than anything, but as much as I do, I have a family and they would have voted Miami 10 times out of 10.  Please remember JH has one to.

reminds me of Latrell Sprewell talking about needing his salary to put food on the table for his family.  I think the Harbaughs could have made ends meet at $4-5M/year.

The only impact 4-5 million v. 6-7 million has on what you can provide your kids is a potential effect on the brand of 5th car you would get each one.

Spree actually did need that money to put food on the table.  Dude is broke.  He got his boat impounded from the Milwaukee harbor, and he has like a dozen kids to support.

LONDON: Increased attention toward football in the United States is having a ripple effect across the Pond. The Glazer family flew to the Bay Area this afternoon to interview Jim Harbaugh for the, allegedly, soon to be open manager position with the Manchester United Football Club.

Harbaugh is 28-21 at I-A.  Without a quarterback many consider to be the best college QB in a decade ore more, he's below .500.

What I'm saying is, it's possible that it's Luck that made Harbaugh.  Not the other way around.  Given the lack of success that more established college coaches have had in the NFL, $8M a year seems like an incredible gamble.

This is going to be interesting to watch play out.  I don't fault Harbaugh in the least, though I don't care for him using an alleged $5.2M offer from UM to leverage more from Ross, as some have reported.

I'd sure like to know what Brandon's itinerary was like today...
