It will influence the team drastically, as they will be forced to wear some extra clothing. All kidding aside, I don't think it will make too big of a deal except to some of the true freshman from warm weather states. Connecticut has to play in this too and the wind might help our secondary out - maybe?

This truly is the best time of the year, but how painful is the wait from when you wake 'til kick off? I got up at 7am, and it feels like it's been an eternity 3.5 hours later.

Not the temperature, but the wind. Thank goodness, as I do believe that helps both teams secondary. I'd love to see a good Michigan running game to start the season!!!
GO BLUE!!!

Tell me that's not really a dog, is it?
September 4th, 2010 at 11:22 AM ^
I believe that is the infamous ChupaCabre... they found him washed up on some beach after he tried tangling with a wolverine.

He was a three time champion of the World's Ugliest Dog competition

It's game day, man. Stop analyzing and start enjoying. No one knows. Jesus.
September 4th, 2010 at 8:53 AM ^
The wind is blowing crazy this morning so that will definitely play a role in our already-suspect kicking game.
September 4th, 2010 at 9:41 AM ^
Passing, too, especially the deep ball. Plus, the timing of gusts will be impossible to judge.
September 4th, 2010 at 8:56 AM ^
This is perfect footbaw weather. With the 60 degree temps and wind, what more could you ask for?

IMO opinion that would aid UConn more than us, we can run all day - they need the downfirld pass.
September 4th, 2010 at 9:03 AM ^
It won't effect them. I'm sure that you're aware of all the recruits that we pull in from Florida and they thrive in this cold weather.
/s
But seriously, if this throws them off enough to hurt their performance then this could be a very long season.
September 4th, 2010 at 9:04 AM ^
I just hope Demetrius and his friends brought warm clothing.

September 4th, 2010 at 9:04 AM ^
I am more worried about the recruits visiting from the south and how they feel about such a cold day so soon into September.
September 4th, 2010 at 9:28 AM ^
NFL games played in the north east and midwest, so recruits should get used to it, if they have NFL aspirations.
September 4th, 2010 at 9:05 AM ^
oh shit...it's fucking cold outside
September 4th, 2010 at 9:05 AM ^
as a result of this weather, they are going to RIP UCONNS FUCKIN HEADS OFF!
September 4th, 2010 at 9:13 AM ^
I plus you

For your appreciation of the OP's proper use of "affect."
Also brilliant: "UCONNS fuckin heads" being ripped off.

When your out there and the adrenaline is pumping you just play
September 4th, 2010 at 9:38 AM ^
Dilithium is known to resist cold.
September 4th, 2010 at 9:46 AM ^
that's why you play football in the fall....
September 4th, 2010 at 9:55 AM ^
65 was considered cold
September 4th, 2010 at 11:24 AM ^
I was wondering if anybody was gonna mention this.
It's bloody nice out; it's not cold until it's below freezing and even then it's not that bad.
September 4th, 2010 at 12:10 PM ^
...here in the GWN 65 is considered quite mild.
September 4th, 2010 at 2:35 PM ^
For the brie and his malbec I am drinking.

Maybe if it was super-windy and this was a precision-passing offense, I'd be worried. But all the wind will do is super-charge Dilithium and the slot-ninjas as they run down the field.

if cold weather could effect a michigan football team, there would be many michigan football teams
September 4th, 2010 at 12:13 PM ^
It shouldn't have any affect, but, if it does, we're in deep shit for the remainder of the season.
September 4th, 2010 at 2:33 PM ^
Seems like good football weather to me
September 4th, 2010 at 3:28 PM ^
I don't know about the cold but the wind would certainly have me differ on the coin toss.
September 4th, 2010 at 5:44 PM ^
The effect on the team will be minimal, so I don't think the cold weather will affect them much.
