If you didnt already hate the Lions draft enough

They trade up AGAIN with Uncle Bill and select old friend Da’Shawn Hand. He’s possibly the only Alabama DL ever who does not look like he can play in the NFL. FML

Great draft for the Lions. They addressed their needs with good talent. Take the moaning Lions fan routine elsewhere and delete this stupid fucking thread.

Can you really judge a single draft in April? Seems like you need to wait a couple of years before you know for sure. I mean, unless you take Mike Williams with your first round pick.

Well, if nothing else, this time we know for certain that Hand's flight into DTW will be one where he's coming to the state of Michigan to actually play some football.

The third round pick by the Lions is still the one that irritates me - not a top need and a guy that, by most measures, was way overdrafted (5th / 6th round on many boards).

He didn’t play much before last season, Alabama is always deep as heck at dline. They also run a 2 gap 3-4 which sole design of the dline is to stop the run. Saban has rarely allowed his players to pin their ear backs and get after the qb, we don’t know what Hand can do because Saban players are robots but the lions worked him out not you.

Ragnow is a good pick the o line is terrible when Swanson was out. Running back was needed, I preferred Guice but Johnson is good. Safety was a reach but Glover is getting up there in age. Hand was a good pick you always pick a underachieving player over an overachiever.

Ragnow is an instant upgrade over Swanson. Walker will be a solid special teamer this year before replacing Quin in 2019. Hand is the versatile hybrid Patricia wants. Johnson is the only question mark. Guice would've been preferred, but it's not impossible that Johnson has a better career after splitting carries with Blount as a rookie. only time will tell.

had a lot of red flags

Blount and Abdullah have contracts that end after 2018 so Johnson was a good pick

I would like some more depth at DL with the last 2 picks but BPA should be fine

remember the draft complements what they did in FA, where they signed a DT, 2 LB's and a CB

a lot of people are ignoring their FA approach. And I think putting a premium on high character guys serves the organization well. The Lions were a decent short yardage back away from 11-5 last season (it cost us vs. Atlanta and Pittsburgh), and that was without Hyder. I think they go 10-6 this year and win a wild card game.
