I could see him as 5 star Wormley who plays both over his career here. Kemp will be both this year and might primarily go back to Anchor post-Gary. Your point still stands they just let guys’ development dictate position and cross train them at a few spots for depth/flexibility. If Hinton just gets huge like Jeter then yeah he’s probably playing the two DT spots. If his natural playing weight is more 290-300 they’re not opposed to turning that man into a TE murderer.

Good pick up but we have to win to keep these kids committed. No guarantees he won’t look elsewhere if we can’t win the big games next year

6'2", 147 lbs for my senior year physical. I would have been useful if the football field were 4900 yards longer.

The fact that Don Brown offered him and he’s not the Prototypical corner that Don Brown prefers in his system shows me the kid has to be pretty good. If Don Brown is willing to go outside of what is normal within their system, that shows even more the value of the kid being offered. Saw somebody mentioned maybe he’s slot receiver because of his height but from what I’m reading that’s not what is being recruited as. Could his position change? Maybe but I doubt it. If Don wants him thats all I need to know

Looking at 247's profile on Te'Cory Couch it looks like Karsen Barnhart, an OT from Paw Paw suddenly got a bunch of CB predicitons flippling from MSU to UofM.   .88 3 star.

Anyone know anything about this kid?  I'd research more, but I need to do my taxes too.

Barnhart is definitely a take and will likely be committing to UM this week. He doesn't play great talent but he's a basketball player and former TE that outgrew the position. He's preformed well at the camps he's attended so far and if he continues to be solid at these camps will get a bump in the rankings. We'll likely be kicking ourselves if he ends up at MSU.

Big strong kid but competition level leaves a lot to be desired. He’s not playing anyone in high school that would be a D1 prospect, so it depends how he looks at camps against legit defensive linemen. I’ve not seen that.

Don’t read the recruiting posts as much as I used to...knew he visited from the board, held my breath hoping this wasn’t another 3 star commit thread meltdown.

At least our defense will still be good, though I would still like to see a true dt in this class. Still have no idea what the plan is on offense

So they didn't go after Kalon Gervin, from Cass Tech last year, and instead get Couch (I'm perfectly happy with getting a top 300 guy). Seems odd since Gervin had a higher grade and you'd want to hold on to in state talent from a pipeline school.

5’10” 165 lbs is fine for a CB. And as a 16 or 17 year kid he may not be done growing. But go ahead and disparage his size. I like cranky corners with a chip on their shoulder.
