Ibi Watson is Transferring

Yes, you came across as impressed with yourself for predicting it, and pleased that you were right. May not have been your intention, but that's how it reads. It was a pretty dickish post.
Well then, congratulations on apparently being the MGo version of Carnac The Magnificent, except not nearly as funny.
The "I told you so" posts, regardless of whether or not you personally weren't convinced based on data available at the time, are never going to go over well.
Gee, how can that be since you just joined? Back with a new name, but still getting negged.
Best of luck to him and glad he got some tourney minutes.
Naw, he gone. After reading The Athletic article, I'd be shocked if he'd stay.
Was not going to say it while he was on the team, but with him transferring:
I will never understand why he looked dejected when Jordan Poole sunk that all-timer against Houston. He was in the game and under the basket, and his body language was clearly visible from most angles... he looked disappointed. I can only speculate on his motives. That said a lot to me. He and JP seemed really close, and we don't need negativity weighing down our positive energy guy and likely future star.
JFC
How about we let the body cool before shitting all over it?
I don't know why you would assume he looked "dejected" after the shot, as all I see is a guy processing a game-winning shot. He chased Poole around just like everyone else, and unless you were sitting in the stands and for some weird reason fixated on him instead, every camera angle immediately shifted to Poole so I doubt you could take much from his reaction beyond the half-second of him looking back at the officials and at the scoreboard.
It's this cynicism and willingness to shit on people when they leave to "justify" their decision in your mind that drives me insane about all sports fandom, but especially this one.

I seriously doubt he was unhappy because JP specifically made it. I'm sure he would have done the same exact thing had anyone else made it.
I think the reason for his reaction (indifference or disappointment or whatever it was) was that he had certainly already decided he was leaving the team, so in his mind he could have already been checked out and mentally feeling like not part of the team. I've seen it many times where a bench/scout team player who expected to be contributing more (i.e. not a walkon) has a hard time feeling a part of team success.
Also, if he was leaving the team, maybe he didn't even care if they kept playing. Could have felt disappoiinted to have to practice another week instead of moving on with his career.
Whatever it was, I don't think it had anything to do with JP and isn't an uncommon reaction/feeling from a guy in his position. It's just that guys in his position are rarely, if ever, actually on the court such that you see their indifferent reaction to something like that.

Bad take.

I didn't think he look disappointed. I thought he looked restrained and was flexing his arms in front of him. Some people react differently in those situations. I, for one, have never been one to jump around excitedly when good shit happens. I react a lot like Ibi did in that situation.
Anyone notice how shockingly unenthusiastic Ibi was under the basket after Jordan hit the shot? He barely celebrated. Only jogged after Poole as the rest of the team sprinted. Watch for Ibi next time you watch the clip. He almost seemed bummed that the season had to continue. I figured he was going to be the one to leave after watching that.
Poor guy. I hope he finds tons of playing time and some excitment at his next spot.
Glad to know there is only one way to celebrate a game-winning shot and whatever sliver of video we see of a person totally encompasses his overall mental state and feelings about being at a program.
I'm guessing you also weigh in on how people process grief----"she didn't really look that sad that her husband passed away...."
edit: not you, a couple above you. Sorry.
Yeah, I have no idea where this narrative started that he didn't care or wasn't passionate. In the moment, I wasn't sure if the shot got off in time, and I can't imagine being on the court at that moment and wondering if you just saw your season end or it was saved by a miraculous shot. Any response at that moment was appropriate.

He didn't react like them. Must be a robot... or KGB.

Bullshit. If he's not reacting the exact same way as everyone else, then he doesn't care and is on his way out. /s
I think he was in shock, the real story is how in the world does Livers go from throwing the inbound pass,to being at the other ends free throw line, before MAAR took his 1st dribble. Its like a time warp kinda thing
Livers must have run a full sprint 40 yard dash as so as he started to release the pass.
That blur down the court told me more about his athleticism than any play the entire season. He looked like Usain Bolt on that play.
Good luck to him. I hope he wasn't forced out and that instead he looked around and figured he'd have a better chance to see the court elsewhere.
Poole passed him on the depth chart and he wasn't making much progress. Good luck to him where ever he goes
the spring game being cancellled. I guess because we are all so enamored with the basketball program right now and its immediate future based on its national impact, that football practice rather than a scrimmage on Saturday night takes second stage.

He flexed his arms and looked as if he said "yeah". Not everyone reacts the same when shit like that happens.
My gosh there are a lot of people speculating about this kid based on a 1.5 second clip of his reaction (or lack there of) to Poole's game winning 3. Is it not possible that he was waiting to make sure the shot was off in time before he went crazy? His back was to the shooter, so he had no idea when it was released.
