So many sad comments here of people rooting for their brackets.  I blame all of you for Gonzaga's comeback. :P

Philosophical questions aside, everyone on this board should be cheering for every lower seed except Michigan's opponent, especially in the West bracket.  I would much rather Michigan face the weakest possible team at each level of the tournament.  There are no style points here.

If you're rooting for UNC this weekend because you picked Michigan to beat them in the Sweet 16, I don't even know what to say to you. :)

Considering I wasn’t alive then I don’t remember anything, while true, it would feel more rewarding to have them go through the toughest competition

OK, well there's this:

Shaddup, ya punk kid!

Ya win by beating the teams you play, 6 of em in a row (7 for Cuse or St. Bonnie).

You get NOTHING EXTRA for beating higher seeds, no further recognition, no greater satisfaction.

Since you're so young, you just gotta take our word for it!

Your team (clearly with us UM) always trumps a bracket. If it doesn't, you aren't a real fan, or you put way too much money in on your bracket.

BTW, shoutout to CBS/Turner once again for their coverage of the tournament. Every game available on tv if you have cable. Scorebugs with networks to direct you to games that are exciting.

And, most importantly, full streaming available to all subscribers. And three (I think) free hours for anyone regardless of subscription--a fan of a small team with no cable subscription still gets to watch their team on streaming if they are so inclined.

Worth noting that this is the way I watched Michigan's glorious victory over Kansas in 2013. We were on a tiiiiight budget, but I watched every minute.
