Anybody watch the f*$@ing Big East title game?

Wonder if Fox producers will take any heat for the broadcast.  I plainly heard no less then 10 F-bombs in the second half from players and coaches.  Was really bad after the final buzzer.  May want to turn those Courtside mics down next time!

After watching that game, I would be completely fine with Villenova as the 1 in our bracket. You know what, fuck it, I wouldn’t mind Virginia either. I’m not really scared of anyone in this tournament

I love Big East officiating.  They let them play the game.  

Then I briefly flipped over to the ACC championship.  A Virginia player breathed on a UNC player and they called a foul.  There is such a disparity in what constitutes a foul that I think it will be a factor in the tournament depending on officials.

What’s the buzz on our seeding tomorrow? Seems like a team or two has decided to help us out. Are we a three or what? Given our likely AP ranking, it seems like we should be solid as a three, in the discussion for a two. Or am I putting on the homer glasses?

with about 95 percent certainty.  I don't think we can get to a 2 since Tennessee and Cincinati made their title games, and at worst, can only lose to good teams now (both of whom have about as good a chance of passing us as the loser dropping below us - a small chance).  If Memphis could have not been absolutely awful in the second half and held on to beat Cincinnati, we'd have an outside shot, but highly unlikely now.

And with Kansas beating WVU, we're almost certainly safe on the 3 line.

Biggest question that remains is location, and there's no chance we play in Detroit unless the committee changes the way they assign locations.  And there's no reason to believe they would do that.  In the past, they have simply gone down the s-curve and put the highest ranked teams in the closest possible location. 

The most relevant precedent I could find was 2016.  Kentucky was the 15th team on the s-curve and Iowa State was 16th.  There were two spots left to be slotted: One in Des Moines, Iowa and one in Denver.

They sent Kentucky to Des Moines and Iowa State to Denver, which seems totally insane.  Lexington is 662 miles (or about a 10 hour drive to Des Moines).  It's not like that's convenient, anyway.  But they sent the Cyclones a similar 700 miles away, when they could have kept ISU about 30 miles from campus and put UK in a city with a sizable airport and plenty of direct flights.

You have guessed... correctly.

Unless Iowa State already had several home games scheduled in Des Moines -- which would have made them ineligible to play there anyway -- that's just poor planning.  You're supposed to get some other local school to host.  For example, Dusquene is hosting the Pittsburgh pod -- I'm pretty sure Robert Morris has in the past -- so that Pittsburgh, had they not fallen off a cliff under Kevin Stallings, could have played there.  WSU always hosts the Spokane pod so that Gonzaga can play there.  UDM is hosting the Detroit pod for obvious reasons.

I'm truly surprised that they didn't get either Drake or the Big XII to host.  (Somehow, if you have a host conference instead of a host school, it doesn't cause conflicts).

go to further lengths than others to delay exposing their children to the "real world".

I know better than to let my kids watch cable. If standards change on what is legal/acceptable on over the air broadcasts, I'll have to further limit what my kids can watch. I'd prefer not to have to do that. To each their own, though.

Right now he either works at an oil change place, or went to Penn and works at Black Rock. Either way, he's still a douche.

I did get the girls all the time, in hs. (Was also our HS RB and PG, so, caveat) Get told I curse too much tho, now that I'm a grown up. And girls come by less as I get fatter. But seriously, I was raised by a VERY conservative family. Church, no guns, no dancing. And all three kids went to jail. (We're fine now. Navy pilot, actuary, and govt contractor. But still.)

I'm with you Will. Gotta let them maintain innocence as you can. Don't shield them from the real world when they're transitioning out of being actual kids. But let kids be kids without all the adult stuff for a while. You only get one childhood. We talk to ours when we do hear or see something inappropriate just so they know that hey, that stuff isn't actually ok, and we don't want you to think it's normal even if someone else does. They 7 and 10 though. Definitely growing out of the whole innocence thing.

It really appears that a large portion of the MGoBlog community really has no grasp on the emotional and vocabulary development of kids. 

In most places, kindergarten students don't typically go to their first day of school and simply start using the word 'fuck' as a substitute for all other words, just... like... with different inflections to indicate their intent.  A 5-year-old is not going to step into the front door of their school and be barraged by a bunch of baby George Carlin's yelling about motherfucking cocksuckers. 

I'm not a prude, but I don't want my younger two kids hearing that shit.  My oldest is 8 and that is about at the age where language is not a concern.  He knows context and when he can use language like that, so he's mature enough to handle it.

My 4 year old would straight up call a teacher a dumb bitch if she knew what a dumb bitch was and got upset about coming in from recess before she was ready.

"Fuck" is no longer a curse word. 

Even my kids and their middle-school friends say it in passing without a second thought.  The adults around them don't blink an eye.

It is just a general purpose word now with no real meaning.

There are only two "curse" words left:  The C-word and the N-word.

George Carlin's 7 words you can't say on TV are down to 2.

Everything else you can pretty much say anywhere anytime.

Can we be more detailed here.  Is everyone still concerned about cunt or cocksucker?  The only words that piss me off are racial or sexual orientation slurs.

It doesn't just have to be the n-word of the f-word.  Anything that is deeply demeaning to a group of people who don't inherently deserve it just shows a total lack of class and maturity.
