Clemson to Sugar Bowl rather than across the country to Pasadena? So Bama has a nice play to play.

Delany will whine, but this is the best possible thing that could have happened to the Big Ten.
The conference just could not absorb another beat down again.
Now we get to reboot and start fresh next year.
This helps Michigan, who will start to be in the CFP picture going forward.

Hilarious seeing these fools try to justify OSU. They barely beat Michigan, Wiscy was a "close" game, the get trounced by Iowa and Oklahoma.
No one mentioning Barret being "injured"...
Fuck OSU so much fuck OSU.

with the gift of the 3rd string QB, who wasn't a good 3rd string QB gifting them throughout the game. I know we've beat up JoK enough, but when looking at the factors, you just can't leave that out.

I agree, Herbie is hurting. But great teams lose but not by 31 points simple as that

get stomped twice.

Any OSU fan who whines after taking a second loss like that in November, get the fuck outta here. Ha! Committee told them to take their shitty loss and fuck off.

Please don't decrease the value of muppets.
At this point, we can only have (football-related) muppets when we win a B1G championship or Beat OSU.

For OSU this year, a trip to the pink locker room poisons their playoff spot.

Nice, OSU got some PSU treatment from last year. Fuck any OSU fan talking about winning the BIG champ should mean something.
December 3rd, 2017 at 12:50 PM ^
It's interesting that in bizarro-world 2017, Alabama actually doesn't have any big wins. I know they played FSU before Francois went out, but Francois wasn't the reason FSU's offense clicked last year. Dalvin Cook was one of the best backs in the country.
Edit: I'm not saying that OSU's resume is any better. Hard to argue for a team that got absolutely blown out by 7-5 Iowa.

I wish, but it'll never happen unless we take our own serious action against it. We need to let the message be heard that if we have to deal with any more of this bs, you can count Michigan out of the B1G.
That'll scare Delaney's money mind, and THEN we'll see games being fairly called again.

Play one really good team (mostly SEC) but not in a neutral site. Play Notre Dame. Play one cupcake.
It's that simple. That should be our nonconference schedule every year.

Yeah. To me, you get one loss a year and the committee will usually cut you some slack. But lose twice, especially by double-digits both times, and you're out barring sme crazy circumstances.
December 3rd, 2017 at 12:57 PM ^
People complaining about the non-conference need to remember that FSU was the #2 team coming into the year. It's not Alabama's fault they fell apart this year. Fresno was garbage when Alabama scheduled them; now they're a top-25 team. CSU was 10-3 when this game was scheduled, I believe, so they probably figured that was a decent matchup.
It's like Michigan's OOC last year. Everyone looked at Colorado and UCF and figured those were terrible teams; turns out both were pretty good, with UCF being elite this year and CU winning their division and 10 games last year.
You schedule who you can when you can, and I don't think anyone would have suspected that the SEC would be that down this year and that FSU would be that bad. I don't like Alabama, and I can see an argument for OSU getting in because of division championships, but bitching about OOC games schedule 2-3 years in the past is the wrong tact IMO, especially when both OSU and Alabama signed up for nationally-ranked programs.

Per S&P, Alabama's preseason OOC schedule featured a team that was, on average, 43rd in the country (I'm ignoring Mercer because that seems to be a conference-mandated requirement, but feel free to include them if you want). OSU's was 54.
Each team played one tough game OOC and nobody else. That happens. And OSU lost to the only good team they played in the OOC, somewhat badly, at home. So I don't give you a lot of credit for getting blown out by a good team. And Iowa and Florida State finished about equal in terms of S&P (last I saw it was 62 and 50). Alabama crushed the Noles and Iowa ran over OSU.
So again, there are arguments to be made for giving a spot to OSU. But OOC scheduling is not one of them.
