Year 1 - MGoCereal: Results

Summary: Cinnamon Toast Crunch is king, Brian Cook as a cereal mascot, and a vicious debate in the comments about whether you pour the milk or cereal first.

Year 2 - MGoHalloweenCandy: Results

Summary: People like Reese's, candy corn sucks, and something about candied genitalia.

Year 3 - MGoFastFood

It's time for the 3rd installment of my divisive, food-based poll series. This time the focus is on fast food joints.

Rules:

1. Click the link and type in your answers to the following questions:

What is the best fast food chain?

What is the worst fast food chain?

What is the most overrated fast food chain?

What is your favorite fast food menu item?

I'll count up all the horrible misspelled results and post them here on Saturday before Minnesota(actually Monday it turns out) along with some notable responses. Poll ends sometime Friday evening.

2. No rules. If you want to rally the Ronald McDonald/Colonel Sanders slashfiction subreddit for votes, that's fine. The poll is set up to only accept one survey per device. if you break that to rig a dumb poll like this, it says a lot about you.

3. I don't care how you or anyone else defines a fast food restaurant. If it's a fast food restaurant to you, go ahead and put it in the poll.

The poll is here. Go crazy.

Poll is closed, don't click there.

If I'm looking for something good, I can't think of any fast food that really fits the bill.  I do agree with others, thought, that Subway has to be among the worst.

In-and-Out is by no means the best, but I will get it every time i visit the west coast because I cannot get it where I live. I have fond memories of the two 2x2s i got after the Rose Parade.

I think Shake Shack is by far the most over rated in that space to the point that I won't go there anymore. Five guys is the best of the fast burger joints.

Though only people from new england will have been there, I put Clover as my favorite. It's good enough that a  voracious carnivore like myself will eat there 3 times a week despite it being vegiterian only.

When In-N-Out came to Tucson 8 or so years ago, my wife -- the queen of burger/fries -- latched on and wouldn't let go.  But she has since released her grip on In-N-Out, and now favors Culver's.  She thinks the fries at In-N-Out are disappointing, and she is WAY into good french fries.  Johnny Rocket french fries are her favorite, but that went out of Tucson a few years ago.

I find In-N-Out to be merely "meh."  Five Guys burgers are good.

Lately I've become addicted to the Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich and a baked potato.  That's my go-to fast food meal.

Taco Bell is my favorite and I don't care what anyone says about it. You're right. It's still my favorite. Also, Long John Silvers is the worst and if you didn't vote for it to be the worst that's because you forgot about it.

Best: Chipotle

Worst: Mc Donalds

Overrated: It's fast food, I am not sure it's highly rated.

Best Item: Checkers Fries

Never been to Chick-FIl-A. Their commercials make me crave beef, so each time I think about it, I end up eating a steak instead.

I voted best as Arby's, worst is White Castle, overrated Taco Bell, and best item being the beef and cheddar from Arby's.

doesn't it seem a little too convenient how different chains produce the best versions of different items? Like, why can't you get a Whopper with McDonald's fries and a Frosty, all at once??? Regardless, answers to the first three questions will vary, but anyone who doesn't put McRib as their all-time favorite fast food item is obviously lying.

Best:  Popeyes is clearly the best fast food and I would say their spicy fried chicken is better than 75% of the fried chicken I've eaten in regular restaurants.

Worst:  Probably BK but McD's is pretty damn close. At least McD's has the delicious mcnugget and a sausage mcmuffin with egg but they are dead to me once they dropped the hot mustard sauce.  I don't think I would want anything on the BK menu.  Either way, I haven't been to a McD's, BK or Wendys in years.

Overrated:  Five Guys.  Not sure how anyone can proclaim its a good burger (not to mention any crazies that thing its great) and way too expensive for a bland, greasy patty.  I dont care how fresh or made to order it is, the burger sucks.  I would also add In 'n' Out.  InO is at least a damn fine burger but not worth going out of the way far.  Their fries suck.. and don't tell me to order then well done because that just make shitty, burnt fries.  You are better off just getting a second burger animal style than wasting stomach space on shit fried.

Best Item:  Clearly a spicy thigh from Popeyes...

It has been 15+ years since I had a burger from McDonald's and it was completely inedible, but at least they have decent fries and breakfast menu. Burger King on the other hand has nothing edible there. Wendy's is tolerable, and I get a craving for the Baconator once a year/every other year. I love In-N-Out burgers but their fries suck. Everything sucks at 5 guys. For a burger I prefer the regional chains such as SmashBurger or Burger Me.

I'm a big fan of Chipotle/Qdoba or Baja Fresh. [Taco Bell and Del Taco are gross, especially sober].

I don't mind Subway, but it has definitely gone downhill over the 20+ years I've eaten there. I wish there were a Potbelly's near me because that is the best sandwich chain. Wich wich is decent as well. I'm always disappointed with Jimmy Johns.

I went to Chik-Fil-A once. I won't be going back.

I'd say In-N-Out is vastly superior to every other burger place. Culvers is probably a safe 2nd, with Whataburger probably 3rd. I like Five Guys, but it's way overpriced. And as much as I ove getting a ton of fries, theirs are average.

I'm a big, big fan of In-N-Out fries, but McDonalds is close, and I'd kill for Culvers cheese curds.

As far as most overrated, I'd say Jimmy Johns. Their food is garbage.

And best single food? Chick-fil-A Spicy Chicken sandwich (no pickles).

Best fast food I've had is Whataburger. Love that chain. Wish they expanded North. Culver's is pretty solid too. Although In-N-Out was good, I think it's grossly overrated. I've had it in CA, AZ and Vegas. Chick-Fil-A is not bad but overrated as well. In the South, Bojangles is a pretty good FF chicken chain. As is Zaxbys. Raising Canes is not bad either. In Texas, Rudy's BBQ chains are pretty solid as well. I do miss Schlotzsky's Deli. They used to have one in Bloomington and South Indy I'd frequent occasionally. EDIT: Fast food for the most part is unhealthy. But in the end, anything you eat just forms a turd.
