Joel Klatt: Notion that Harbaugh is underperforming is "false" and "petty"

we'll be just fine.

But the OL is worse than we had thought. Sp8 did not play well and is injured. O'Korn is not a great QB but could improve through the season. Our defense flirts with greatness. Overall, I think we could still pull an upset over one of the B1G contenders, PSU, WI or OSU. There's a small chance if this offense improves we could win the B1G. I place that probability at 20 percent. Even if we lose 4 to 5 games this season, we should have a bounce back year next season may be 9-3 or 10-2. 2019 and years after the team will be more experience with plenty of depth. Harbaugh definitely will turn this program into a bonafide top 10 team in a few years. I can wait, I just hope Harbuagh does not get frustrated and leaves for the NFL.

You can't say he's every bit as good if not better as those coaches when he can't beat them. It sounds ridiculous. I agree that his legacy is far from having been written, but he has to prove that on the field.

Yeah... The idiocy starts with snowflakes harping about a single loss on the season for a top 10 team with a brand new offense. The 'sleepovers and Rome' crowd scream about results now, but then give Will Muschamp 5 years to 'build' a program at South Carolina without any complaining about mediocre seasons.
Brady Hoke lit the dumpster on his way out of town, Harbaugh is still putting the fire out.

6 O-lineman in the class of 2013, only 1 remains.... Sheesh...

HAHAHAHAHA. Are you seriously trying to say there is a conspiracy against Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan program? Come on. I was with you on some of this stuff but let's try to leave the crazy at the door.
Christ, this Indiana game can't come fast enough.

Harbaugh will be fine.
I would like to see him win a surprise game that he's not supposed to though. For his own sake.
One of those Dantonio / Ferentz specials where he pulls a rabbit out of the hat.
It's happened to him enough times that the law of avereages should put him on the other side of it for once.

I have a feeling that in this tenth anniversary season of Stanford upsetting USC, Michigan will be giving Jim Harbaugh that next great upset victory he'd love to have in order to silence his critics.

So many GD fades. At least they were throwing them to tall guys, except for the game winning touchdown. Damn it, Jim.

Don't give up on Harbaugh. The guy really is a great football coach. He'll get the offense righted this season. I wouldn't want anyone else coaching Michigan football.
October 12th, 2017 at 10:32 PM ^
Anybody who "gives up" on Jim Harbaugh 2 years and 5 games into his tenure after taking over a complete trainwreck program . . . is an idiot.
They won't listen to you anyway.

Again, for what seems like the millionth time, who is giving up on Harbaugh? Specifically, name one user on here who is giving up on him. I haven't seen it. He is fine. He isn't going anywhere for a while. We're going to win a lot of games. And you know what? We're going to have plenty of praise and criticism both for him. That's how it works when you get paid millions of dollars, and especially when it is a public position.
Let's all relax, take a deep breath, and wait for tomorrow so we can really start bitching. HAHA

Not saying he should be on the hot seat or that he shouldn’t be given more time. He’s the best man for the job right now. But he’s had three years and the results, at least on offense, are bad.
October 12th, 2017 at 10:34 PM ^
Oh, c'mon.
1.) He has top-10 overall talent in the sense that his only two recruiting classes (really only one to himself) were top 10 classes, but they're too undeveloped. It's not like Alabama or OSU where they've had top classes for the past five years and each year's starters go in with the same cumulative experience as the previous year's. This is how the adjustment works. Honestly, the standard that Don Brown has held this defense to since last year is a miracle in and of itself, so we should just be grateful for that.
2.) The offense is in the midst of three assistant coaching changes and are without their three best players at each's repected position (Speight, Black, Newsome). It is what it is.
3.) You damn well know the first MSU game and last year's game in Colombus were flukes, so don't even try that.
Nobody should in any corner of the world be thinking Jim is on the hot-seat, and it shouldn't even be put to language to even have to refute. It's ridiculous. The last two offenses were better than the most recent, but that's for a number of reasons, none of which include Jim's coaching pedigree. Don't forget which team had the most players picked in the NFL draft this past year...
October 13th, 2017 at 10:43 AM ^
Pretty sure he just said that he should not be on the hot seat. Did you read before responding?

It is unacceptable that Harbaugh is not dominating with our loaded 14/15 classes full of offensive studs!!1!1! Inserts comment about the staff's salary.

Harbaugh is the perfect fit for this job, and I'm sure he will eventually get it all together.

He needs to beat OSU this year, plain and simple. If you're going to lose to a very mediocre MSU team, you better come back and beat OSU. Starting off 1-5 against our chief rivals is not a good look. Before the MSU game I had high hopes for a possible Big Ten championship, now I'll take 8-4 as long as one of those wins is against OSU (losses to PSU, Wisconsin, and an upset loss somewhere)

October 13th, 2017 at 10:50 AM ^
So when will criticism be warranted? Serious question. What record against rivals will be the one that is not good enough that we might be able to say something?
If we lose against OSU this year and againg to both next year, is 1-7 bad enough that people can criticize the head coach?
Do I think that will happen? No. And obviously I don't want anything like to happen. But it seems like you are being aggressive in your defense of any criticism of this head coach as if it is just wrong to even question his decisions.
October 13th, 2017 at 10:55 AM ^
You keep saying it over and over.
October 13th, 2017 at 11:09 AM ^
No one said anyone was stopping it. I said, when will it be warranted? So when? You didn't answer that part.
