A lot of falsely equating the national anthem (a symbolic song), with the flag (symbolic piece of cloth), with the military, with the country, with the country's ideals as though they are all the same, and perfect and indivisible. Who gives anyone the right to dictate to anyone that those things are all the same, and how we must behave, or believe, and threaten the livelihood of anyone who doesn't agree?

Frankly kneeling as opposed to standing is pretty damned respectful IMO, it's just an alternative posture .  One which has been effective in bringing up the point that the nation worshipped by those symbols [above] is not yet a "perfect union", and nowadays still falls short of those ideals. Expressing that can hardly be more American.

And only in some specific incidences. Maybe I'm wrong and you were the lone warrior against every person who wears a flag as an article of clothing. Or maybe you're the one that goes around to bars and subtles nudges the American flag slightly above all other flags ensuring prominence?

Or are you the guy that goes around making sure that all flags that fly at night without being lit are taken down.

It's almost as though your support of this issue may be driven by other factors.

I don't agree with everything he says, but i agree with a lot of it.

Where do you stand on him calling Nazis "fine people?"  Or Mexicans "rapists?"  Or not apologizing for demanding the death of the Central Park Five?  Or bragging about being able to grab pussy with impunity?  Or...

Ah, fuck it.  Trump sucks.

I don’t think there’s any way for me to put this lightly. But I wouldn’t want to put it lightly anyway.

Go fuck yourself.

You must be one of those people who spout about freedom and patriotism and the ability to express your beliefs. But only when those beliefs align with your own. Everyone else must be a communist or a terrorist, right?

Fine, lets go there...

SPOILER ALERT: There's nothing "hot" about the woman in your avatar... Her glory days are so far behind her they're in a past life, if they ever existed at all.

And if she is truly your spouse, I'd be upset, too...

People on this blog may not agree with everything I say but they'll agree with that.

O'Korn was able to move the ball and, importantly, be productive in the red zone should be enough to let him get the start going forward. I like Speight but he needs to step back and get his issues worked out.

All due respect to Speight. He’s been a warrior for Michigan, he’s been brilliant at times, and not all of the team’s offensive woes were on him.

But O’Korn came in tonight and showed he ought to be the starter. I hope Speight comes back from whatever injury he got, but O’Korn ought to be the guy. With Speight, I’m honestly not sure we win that game.

Impressive performance but this blog is nuts some times.  Purdue has one of the worst D's in the country.  O'Korn struggled in the past (like last year in his only start) feeling pressure.  He ate a lot of sacks against a bad Purdue D and holds on to the ball too long.  O'Korn might be better than Sp8 but I think we are all over-reacting.

Also, Purdue is the type of team you want to be riskier with your offense because their D is bad.  It seems pretty obvious that Sp8 is in to avoid making errors like interceptions, which he doesn't throw too often (except for pick 6s at inopportune times).

I feel bad for Speight in the sense that the injury he had today looked nasty.

With that said, I hope he doesn't start another game for Michigan. O'Korn will also surely lose a game this season with his happy feet, but Speight was about to lose us the Purdue game for christs sake.

O'Korn in his two games he's had meaningful snaps in his career here, has made 2 game saving plays with his feet. Today's play was the play of the year so far
