there are still big concerns.

The total yardage is impressive, but that was only part nice o-line play and the other part was UF's D got gassed B/C they were on the field so much.

Speight has several very nice balls.  And at least three terrible throws.

Nice to see the ball spread around to so many recievers.  But only 12 total completions.  Not great.

D won the game for M.

Ty is great. He should be getting at least as many carries as Evans. I felt like OL got better in the second half. RT is still a concern, but we might be better in OL by mid season. We will see.

Speight was brutal. Yes, he does have the GRIT, but his throws still need work. We need to use more TEs.

If Speight can play better against good teams, we have a very good chance to go 11-1 or 12-0. If Speight does not improve by B1G play, I am not sure if D can win it for us. But Running game should help tremendously.

And we need better playcalls. I am not a X and O guy, but some of those plays look like it will go nowhere. Too often we shot ourselves in the foot. May be they didn't execute. Can't wait for the UFR.

Good news is we have several weeks before we play anyone that has a good chance to beat us if the defense continues to play like this.  It's a while before Penn State, and in that time hopefully the offense comes together a bit.

Realistically, Florida's defense is the second best we'll face.  I'm comfortable saying that now that Wisconsin has lost two starting LBs.  They're better than Penn State.

Meanwhile, Penn State and OSU are the only teams where I feel like they can challenge this defense.

Maryland and a couple others may prove able to frustrate us for a few plays, but I don't think those teams have enough D to beat us.

Speight is serviceable at best. Left side of the Oline is awesome. Right side is ok. Running backs are all superb. I think Isaac should be number 1 Wide receivers will be just as productive as last year and probably more talented all around Speight is awful

One of the picks was purely on him, the one he over threw to Perry, other one Crawford should have hauled in. There is no way he should miss Crawford on the rub route, it was so wide open....... Then speight nails eubanks beautifully over the shoulder... Conclusion is that it wasn't as bad as it seemed, he needs to clean some things up then he'll be fine, it's still the first game. And I'm not on board with the John okorn experience, hopefully that's just a one game type of thing

Speight shit the bed badly twice, but the first pick isn't on him. I think the OL significantly outplayed their expectations. Michigan ran very effectively against the second best defense they'll play this season. Pass blocking was a struggle, but wasn't as bad as I expected.

This is a top-notch defense, and we put up yards and points.  Had a lot of possession.  Ran well.  Speight clearly sees the field.  We have a shit-ton of good receivers.

But.  Ulizio was getting blown up all day.  Mental mistakes -- tipped pass for pick-6, bad INT for pick-6, personal fouls.

Speight needs to stop keeping his mouth guard out on run plays. Obvious handoff. Also we were predictable to run on first down but I don't think Harbaugh cares. Ulizio turned it around on 2nd half.

I get it. I'm sitting on a couch. What do I know but it's something that I have always noticed growing up, playing and looking for things to emulate as a QB. Brett Favre was the worst offender of this. Anytime a QB has his mouth guard out you know his job is quick. Timing pass or handoff. Book it

Right?! People get in their head every run play is created/executed/RPSd/etc. equally. No way are they different! Evans was in at absolute different times than Issac. There's no reason Evan's couldn't have made those 3rd and longs Issac did for example...but the masses seem to always resort to black/white thinking and make inferences that aren't necessarily there.

Understood...but the RBs we currently have, from what I've watched, are adept at hitting the right holes.  And so, Issac definitely ran well and hit what he needed to.  Evans I don't recall haveing the same opportunities to bust plays open that Isaac did.  Much of Evan's carries were inside and through traffic and he did pretty damn well.  I get your point, I just agree with the poster I replied to in that the way things went doesn't make Isaac the best back on our roster just because he took advantage of the runs that were made for him (also admitting he added his own cuts to an extant, etc during said plays....though he still doesn't like contact much).

Speaking of cuts...Evans made some that maybe didn't go for big gainers but man, not many people can make and have the vision to make the subtle cuts he makes, yes I probably mean Isaac.  Feel a bit pedantic arguing against a HELLUVA game by Ty Isaac, so, I'll just stop and be happy with what, 200+ or damn near almost 200 yards rushing on Florida's talented defense.

good today. the Int off his hands and a catch on some type of crossing route in the 1st quarter where he had an easy 10 yards if he turns it upfield. Instead he runs across the field, straight at the D for minimal gain. That said, I'm assuming he'll improve over the year with more PT.

Florida should be good defensively so yardage wise this was impressive.  They over committed inside to stop that part of our game and we got some nice work from the RBs to bounce and ended up with 200+.  Never would have expected that against Florida.  Need to execute better in the red zone.

Speight has to be better, and we need to protect him better.  RT remains a huge concern.

I think it's like a B day that feels like a D+ because of some frustrating things.  But 430 yards against Florida is solid.

How do we Coach? With an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.

How do we solve our problems on Defense? With aggression

How do we recruit? With so much effort they invent new rules and name them after us.

How do we play offense? Shhh, shh, take it easy, now. Be safe, quiet. Don't rock the boat. Lets be rational here. Don't do anything crazy, take your foot off the gas, and keep the other team in it. Do juuuust enough to win. Maybe even match our biggest weakness against the other teams greatest strength, repeatedly.

I know I'm exaggerating, but it really seems to be the general tone of things.

Harbaugh knows what he's working with, and I believe in our offense, but running the clock out at the half while trailing, and all those runs up the middle today made me drink, lol.

You can't try anything there. If you do and get nowhere now you're punting from your end of the field. Yes, inning put the clock should generally be frowned upon, but JH has proven that he doesn't just run the clock out. That was a scenario where it was necessary to prevent disaster
