OT: Game of Thrones S7 E3- The Queen's Justice
I laughed out loud at this.
Theron is packing as much between the legs as Kate Winslet too.
I'll see myself out.
Euron a straight savage. Jaime and Reek taking Ls as per usual.
This is Jon Snow, he's King in the North. Ser Davos is absolutely classic.
Having tried a few times but not being able to get past S1E4ish, back in May I posed the question as to whether or not it was worth trying again.
Six seasons in approximately 7 weeks later, I'm pleased to say that it was worth trying again. Thanks to all who encouraged giving it another chance.
That really was it for me. There was someone who mentioned taking a little extra time to pay attention to the characters and character names, because that would end up paying off later. That was exactly what I needed to do. That and get to about episode 6 in Season 1 to see where the show was going and why. Thanks MGoBoard for finally doing something worthwhile (convincing me to watch the most popular show on TV 6 years after its debut). :)
Episode 6 I think was exactly the episode that I finally went from "What the fuck is going on, I'm not sure if I like this" to "Damn this is one intracate show, I love it". It truly has the best story and character development a TV show has ever had.
That was a great episode.
And wow, Euron just coooooold-blooded. Have to imagine it took every ounce Jaime had in him to not slit his threat right there in the throne room.
Great, great episode.
I bet her brother strangles her.
prophetic
I bet her brother strangles her.
On purpose or rough sex gone too far?
Care to explain the theory? Valonqar in High Valyrian is 'little brother'. Euron is a little brother to Balon, but is older than both Victarion and Aeron.
Too easy and a true coward's way out. That would be unbelievably unsatisfying after all the atrocities she's committed.
If you made me guess, she'll either be killed by Jaime or by Tyrion. But Jaime seems like the more likely option. He knows what she's becoming, and she's going to present him with options so horrifying that he won't have any choice to kill her. Either something like her wanting to destroy King's Landing with the remaining wildfire, or Jaime will have to choose between Cersei and Tyrion. And now Jaime knows for certain that Tyrion was innocent.
Jaime would truly come full circle in that situation.
A king and queen-slaying, sister-fucking, child-murdering, one-handed man. That'll be one hell of a legacy.
that's gotta be a real game-changer for Jaime. To now know that it wasn't Tyrion that killed his son. Really opens the door for reunification of Tyrion and Jaime at some point.
Ironically, it appeared just two episodes ago that Jaime might bail on Cersei because it seemed they'd lose. Now, it appears they're the favorites such that Jaime might be faced with killing his sister/bailing or watching her marry Euron.

is becomming? She overthrew a religous rebellion last year that resulted in the King joining a cult, she just outflanked Daenerys (severely) on two occassions, most recently taking Highgarden who was in open rebellion against the Throne and in doing so, 1) will repay the Iron Bank who has been hounding the Throne since Tywin was hand, and 2) secure the Reach which is about the most the important geographical plot of land in Westeros for the upcoming winter. In the meantime, she debilitated the Iron Born fleet and avenged the savage murder of he and Cercei's daughter. She has displayed military and diplomatic savy and has given no ground at all to Euron who she knows full well is not going to come out of this alive.
Who she is becomming? Like a complete badass?
Honestly the title of the series should be called "Game of shit falling apart"
I knew this was coming but couldn't say anything so now I can ask if anyone could explain this to me. The Tyrells had 100K soldiers. OK take away the Tarleys and a couple other houses. The Tyrells still have a ton of their own. Lannisters started the show with 60K. They lost almost half fighting Robb.(Remember Tywin giving Jamie half the army?) Then they lost more men along the way(Blackwater, Sacking of Casterly, etc.) They're a shell of their former might and they just walk over a fresh Tyrell force?
Tyrells lost their best tactician in Tarly. That gave the Lannisters the upper hand.
Really wish they fleshed out Tarly jumping ship more since he apparently was close with Olenna.
there is no way Highgarden is falling that fast, that easily. Even if they were vastly outnumbered, you don't just march up to a stronghold like that and take it down so quickly (unless you have knowledge of a vulnerability like Tyrion had of Casterly Rock).
That was an unfortunate consequence of the show not having much time to really tell a reasonable story/breezing through a storyline to keep pace.
Frey forces laid siege to Riverrun for months because they had no chance against it, even though the Blackfish didn't have much support. Even after Jaime arrived with Lannister forces stronger than what he had at Highgarden, he made a deal with Edmure to open the gates and surrender peacefully because Jaime knew they'd lose too many lives trying to take the castle (they would probably have succeeded but at huge losses).
Edmure, as the ranking lord, commanded his men to open the gates, which they did. The Blackfish refused to surrender but with the gates open, it made to difference.
All seats of power in the seven kingdoms are essentially impregnable to a direct and open attack. Much smaller forces are able to hold any of them for a long time. They obviously couldn't do that with Highgarden for pacing purposes, but that's what was disappointing. They're having to gloss over a bunch of things.
I think you have to assume that most of the Tyrells' bannermen went over to Cersei and that most of the 100k were from other houses. The Reach is huge and sprawling and has a lot of big houses that are a step down from the Tyrells.
Dany is blowing a 28-3 lead.
I've seen this in a few places but unless I'm wrong about where this is headed it feels like Cersei is building the 28-3 lead. Dany just got to Dragonstone and the first battles between the two have gone to Cersei but Dany still has the a lot left and it is just about half-time.
