Michigan State University police walked former football staff member Curtis Blackwell out of the football building in handcuffs in early February, minutes after determining that he interfered with their investigation of a reported on-campus sexual assault weeks earlier. http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/story/news/local/2017/06/13/police-b…

Yes, one rape victim.  But there are others that are hurt by the rapists' actions:  the rape vistim's family and loved ones, even the rapists' families, and the MSU teammates.

I am NOT equating them all:  the rape victim was horrifically abused and criminally treated and is clearly the primary victim who deserves our compassion.  She now has experiences and memories that the others don't.  But criminal and abusive actions like this do have multiple victims.

Quality kid this, quality staff that...I won't take pleasure when a women(nothing to do with the football team) is the victim. If STate got caught with PEDS or payments, fine that's their choice, and worthy of a "haha". Shit, we had LTT and the buttfuck kicker in the past...

I'll be interested to hear what Sam Webb has to say on this topic tomorrow. I listened to the podcast today after the board post on his interview with the coach saying he won't be sending kids to MSU because of how they treated Blackwell. What in the world is that all about if all of this is actually true? I seriously wouldn't be surprised if Blackwell, while obviously having done wrong given this information, was actually still the "fall guy" in that other coaches were still involved but haven't been exposed yet. Sam and others defend Blackwell's character outside of this event so much that something just doesn't add up. Good guys can do bad things, but I still don't buy that this is the complete story and that it starts and ends with Blackwell.

"Pride comes before the fall."

"Does Hart have a little brother?"

"It's not over.  It will never be over." - Exactly Mark.  Exactly.

The rapid manner in which things have imploded at State is impressive. After their miracle win in AA in 2015 with the "Where are all the Wolverines?" remark from Dantonio, Jemele Hill's rant on ESPN a couple of days later, and the constant droning on by their fan base about how Harbaugh was a waste of money, I couldn't imagine a scenario in which things would go so bad so fast. I have to wonder if the current issues and investigations, lead to even more revelations.

Yes, the speed of their fall from grace, and the apex of the glory days of Spartan football has been shocking, and in a very good way.

Now that they are back to being just an occasional booger you cannot get off your finger, it is time to make OSU a rival again, and that means administering a few losses to them in the next five years.

It was pretty clear that these rumors were true, and that they had already designated their fall guy here whether he deserved it or not.

The guy has done and said some pretty bizarre things, so he was the perfect candidate.

I'm pretty sure that the university police put him in cuffs so as to not raise any eyebrows, since that seems to be de rigeur for the football program these days.

(On a serious note, they probably put him through that drill in part to intimidate him into rolling on the three players he was "counseling".  Which I have zero problem with - to the extent the allegations are true, screw Blackwell and his three wards.)

"I wasn't doing an investigation or anything," Blackwell told police. "I was just trying to find out exactly what happened."

Uhhh...what?

I was coming to paste the exact same quote from the article. Isn't trying to figure out what exactly happened, investigating? I'm still laughing about how smart this guy thinks he is. How would he know to tell the players to delete text messages and video if he wasn't investigating...? He better have a good lawyer, because this pending obstruction of justice charge has the potential to ruin his career.

Black guy out in cuffs, white boss and his boss get praised by their bosses. This will seriously hurt their recruiting and relationships, inside and outside of the D.

Wow. I remember thinking at the time of the Reschke girlfriend situation that things were going very poorly for State. But that was less than the tip of the iceberg. I remember State fans beating their chests when King committed, too. Losers.

Like turning it over to the cops in January without doing anything on his own would have been "failure to monitor", I guess??

Also, it struck me that he stayed silent for 2 weeks, but everyone else in lansing has stayed silent for like 4 months. I acknowledge it's not equivalent, but the problem is more than just one guy.
