Comparing the two-deep talent between Florida and Michigan
Saw this on the GatorBait.net forums this morning and thought it was interesting. Of course these two-deep charts are very notional.
Credit goes to user BostonGator for putting this together.

EDIT: Indeed these are recruiting rankings and are not necessarily indicitive of current 2017 talent. Interesting nonetheless.

Seeing Gary's 1.0000 rating makes me smile

to a look-alike competition on their roster pics.

Left-side walrus has turrible pad level here. And, for a marine mammal, right-side walrus lacks a good swim move.
Red shirts are in order.
I really like the concept behind this. It's Madden-izing the rosters based on their 24/7 rank. Even if it is not perfect, it allows a very quick glance into the projected talent levels at each position. Sure, you'll have outliers, but still pretty cool.
That also makes me wonder why there aren't any scouting sites for college players. It'd be pretty cool to have a similar ranking system based on college performance, which would pair really well with this...
PFF does this. If they made their college player ratings more accessible that would be cool. It's basically a UFR for every player in the country, which I'm sure you know since their ratings were incorporated in the UFR charts last year.
Gary will get the best of Ivey. Even better will be when Gary goes against Jawaan Taylor, who he will be granted legal custody of by the end of the game.

I thought Brian Kelly coached for Notre Dame.
He's like Brian Kelly without the red.
Fine, I'll do it.
They're* not there.
Your welcome.
Their*** not they're nor there.
Your welcome.
Not sure how to put in gifs.
But I do believe something flew over your head.... look up.
No sarcasm, I'm seriously stunned that I managed to make that basic mistake. I was an English major, fergodsakes! I am shamed. My family is shamed. My cat is shamed.
My only excuse is that I've spent the last two days giving the soul-destroying and utterly useless piece of garbage test that is the M-Step to my 11th graders. Sample direction: "The highlighting tool highlights material you want to emphasize." (Guess what the magnifying tool does? For 100 MGoPoints!) The directions take a good 10 minutes to read, they are full of gems like this, and we have to read them both days. To all 5 classes each day.
Still...
To be fair, Taylor did make an absolutely selfish and stupid move (throat slash) which everyone knows is an unsportsmanlike penalty.

Also interesting is that the offense talent gap between starters and second string is greater thant the defense. At first blush, and with recent "backup DT" fears implanted in my head, I would've thought the opposite.

The Defense 2 is higher rated in part because it is probably wrong. Lavert Hill and David Long not starting?
Also putting Glasgow in front of Metellus heavily skews things in favor of D2, and I bet a nickel Metellus starts over Glasgow (though I'm sure Glasgow will play plenty)

I don't think it would make any difference if I faced freshman Gary or current Gary. Result: I'm pulp.

Interesting, but you can't use it as an estimate of how good the 2017 2-deeps are.

I edited the OP to clarify that. Good point.

Our team appears to be ever so slightly better when they were in high school.
anyways seems be a very close match up. Our O-line being rated high may help me sleep more at night... maybe a minute or two

Not sure recruiting rankings on guys like Mo Hurst matter any more.

Also Lawrence Marshall is better than Maurice Hurst.

Interesting to see but they have some players switched around it would seem.
I'd put DPJ on first team over Black on offense.
On defense I'd put Long and Hill as the CB starters, not Washington and Thomas. I'd also put Metullus and Hudson over Glasgow and Furbush.
All of those changes would bump up our O1 and D1 ratings a good bit.
April 19th, 2017 at 12:57 PM ^
they have Chauncy Gardner.
spelling almost right
April 19th, 2017 at 12:55 PM ^
Khaleke Hudson should be swapped with Noah Furbush and be the starting SAM LB.
David Long and Lavert Hill need to be swapped with Ambry Thomas and Keith Washington and be the starting CBs.
Josh Metellus should be swapped with Jordan Glasgow and be the starting SS.
April 19th, 2017 at 12:58 PM ^
Did he omit those 4 from the list of starters so that he could make the argument that their starting defense has more talent than ours?
