OT: Roll Call - Who else won their NCAA office pool?
I walked away with a cool $155 on a $5 investment.
Although it felt dirty rooting for UNC, the cool cleansing feeling of $155 of winnings washing over me has taken the stink right off.
To win. It was either 200 or 0.
Got the 0.
I had Gonzaga winning it all and was guaranteed to take home the $500 first place prize if they did, so I hedged it (bet on UNC before the Saturday Final Four games) and took home $290.
I got 4th/156. If Gonzaga won I would have been 1st ($700 payout). Alas.
Well any real michigan fan would have lost thier tourny backet after the 3rd round....
Didn't do one this year. It's tough when Michigan is in the field, especially when we come in on a roll like we did. I can't pick against us.
Yeah buddy! $256 on $10 entry. When it comes to gamblin' I really don't care who wins or loses (except Michigan in the former and the buckeyes in the later).
I had Gonzaga winning the whole thing - finished second in one bracket and third in my other. Came out to winning $236 on $30 outlay.
Needed the teams to combine for 8 more points to win last night, because it came down to the tiebreaker. Didn't get it.
Our office pool was small, but I did win the whopping $60!
Came in 4th in a larger pool, that paid top 3, danm it!
I was last out of 109. At least I got my money back.
One of the pools I was in had over 150 people. The guy who won had picked the lowest seed in every single matchup which left him with four 1 seeds in the final four. He guessed right and won over $900 by only making 3 picks. Amazing.
That's why the best point system is (Round #) x (Seed #).
I had my class fill out brackets. I destroyed them. had Gonz UNC and UNC winning the title.
the upper left region was brutal (as most were) but I had 30/32 1st round games.
it's not fair tho b/c they don't use or know about Kenpom.
No pay in, company will give a reward. Something call a RIFT, I will keep the board posted.
