The best thing I have found is a Fire Stick side loaded with Kodi.  Put Exodus on it and you can watch anyting your little heart desires.  My kids and I watched the Lego Batman movie a few days after it came out in theaters.  There are also live tv apps and sports apps you can add on to it so you will never miss a game.

Don't worry though. Comcast has bought so many members of the US government that even though the vast majority of citizens will suffer, net neutrality is about to be undone. Which means that all of us will pay more for all of these streaming services we love. Which means that Comcast will keep providing shitty service and making bank off of it.

I pay $200/mo for internet and Directv.  These threads have interest for me and while I am always confused about this stuff, the more exposure to it the more things slowly begin to make better sense.  Maybe one day I too will opt for something different as this area evolves.  At least I know where I can come for future consulting on this topic.

Holy shit. Yeah, you need to definitely do something. I pay $95 for internet and PS Vue together. It cost $99 for Amazon Fire TV to have good apps and a good guide for it and I shell out for Netflix as well. So $104 total for viewing content. And if I get pissed about it ever I can just go into my setting and cancel PS Vue whenever I want and pick it back up if I want the next month/week/day or whatever I see fit. Much better than arguing with cable companies over price or packages and paying for their stupid equipment. Just buy yourself a decent modem/router combo, find an internet provider that gives you 25mbps or greater for a decent price and you're set.

According to the official announcement, yes:

A cloud DVR, with no storage limits. With YouTube TV, you’ll be able to record live TV and never run out of storage. Your cloud DVR can record as many shows as you want, simultaneously, without using precious data or space on your phone and we’ll store each of your recordings for nine months.

So I've had Directv since 2006 and I get all the channels I need and all the sports I want for $55 after taxes. Maybe I'm on a loyalty price or something. I don't bundle with any other services.

Never thought about going with anything else because of sports.

I'm a PSVue subscriber. Their service looks exactly the same as PSVue from what I can see. Basically the same channels, same price, no new offerings that I could see...not sure what marketshare they think they're going to steal other than just relying on the notoriety they get from the YouTube name

I have an appletv and all I pay for is netflix but...

I have hulu from the in-laws

hbo from parents

showtime from parents

btn2go from parents

espn3 from isp

Can watch just about anything, but the sports are almost always not live.  Not really a problem since I'm somehow surrounded by no sports fans besides my parents who are aware I almost never watch live, heh.

All of the major cord cutting streaming services (Sling, Vue, DTV Now, and now YT) now offer similar channels (and similar # of channels) depending on tier and within $5 or so of each other. The winner will probably come down to DVR functionality, platforms supported, and reliability.

Looks like Vue is leading the pack on those three dimensions. Although I have the $20 Sling package and the price is so good it's hard to bite on the others. Switching to Vue for BTN for three months in the fall is a reasonable compromise for us.
