BHM is a spoke, no connecting flights to speak of. I mean, theoretically, you could build an ATL-BHM-DTW routing, but the only people who would do that are folks who need to stop in BHM for a reason, or those on a mileage/segment run (i.e., need extra miles/segments to get to the next airline status level before the end of the year).

there are not SAT-BHM flights. He'd still have to connect somewhere, that place likely being ATL. Of course, depending on timing of flights, maybe SAT-ATL-DTW makes more sense than SAT-DTW non-stop.

Regardless of what happens, this is pretty awesome.

not sure what shoes we're talking about. If it's just the shoes of having the number one guy committed but on the verge of flipping, we'd be freaking out. But if we're fully in the Bama shoes and about to win our fifth NC in 8 years and at risk of losing one of many five stars in the class, eh, it'd be a slight disappointment for about 5 min and then a shrug, and oh hey, bummer, we lost that guy but let's watch our two current Sophomore RBs win the playoff title (because the game is on the night of what would be his first day of class at UM, right?).
