Significant betting line movement in the past hour for The Game

Submitted by Fieldy'sNuts on

The line has been at Ohio State -6.5 all week after initially opening at -7.5. Within the past hour the line has fallen to -5.5 at most sports books, with Caesars Palace giving us the most favorable odds at -5. I can't imagine the line would be tightening if the insider buzz was that O'Korn was starting.

Update 6:45 PM EST: Two more sports books (in addition to Caesars) now have the line at -5. Update 10:30 AM EST: Twelve sports books now have the line at -5.5 or lower. Two have it at -4.5.

all on one side. They also move based on information that's going to lead to that. Say that OSU just announced JT Barrett was out, the books aren't going to sit back and wait to move the line. Of course the books aren't just sitting back and waiting for announcements. They want to have sources of info as good as the pro bettors have.

Sam Webb, other mods on scout, and a variety of others that are less reputable. I'm not saying he's 100%, all I said is that there has been increasing optimism as the week goes on. I've read "reports" that suggest he's definitely starting, but I'd prefer to not quote them. Also, our own umbig11 has let us in on some positive reports he's heard, and he's proven to have access.

Line moved today because people are at home the last two day gambling on sports and a lot of money is coming in as a result. It does not reflect and actual change in who they think will win. Just Vegas crunching the numbers so they always win.

The line moved that much because there is to much money being bet on Michigan and the points. The line drops that quick when they want the money to go the other way for a day or so to even out the bets so Vegas doesn't loose there ass. They took a bath from the Super Bowl, NBA Playoffs, and the World Series this year.

That is why the line has changed so much.
