Revenge is a dish best served on the road - in your opponent's backyard

After being embarrassed by Michigan State at home in 1978, the Wolverines had to wait 365 days to avenge that dastardly defeat at the hands of the Jolly Green Giants. Well, the "Arrogant Asses" from Ann Arbor shut their collective mouths and went to work back in 1979. Think they weren't pointing to that MSU Game as a red-letter game? Hail yes, they were!! Enjoy these sights and sounds of how sweet revenge was back in 1979. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ph8S1shsYQ

I was there on Sunday when it started.  But then again my memory of the games against those fuckwads either stealing a win or being the beneficiary of insane luck goes back further than most so I guess that's understandable.

Post shit talking posts Saturday afternoon AFTER we win....not before.

My memories go back just as far. I remember all too well the Eddie Brown mugging of Desmond on my 30th birthday. It still makes me want to punch something.

I told my nephew that this is Mark of Magnesia's bowl game (or, as close as he'll get to one this season). If Fate made him a deal where gets to beat UM but has to lose the rest of his games, I think he'd take it. He'll have his little green minions pumped, with a trick play in his pocket and a bag of Doritos in his shoulder.

So I want us ice-cold, like a snake just before it strikes. I want them thoroughly crushed, with their blood on the field and their noses rubbed in it. After 60 minutes, I wouldn't care if the team unfurled a banner that read, "Back in Your High Chair, Little Bro" and walked off the field under it.

But AFTER the game.

Totally agreed. I'm electing to keep my mouth shut because no matter how good we've been and how bad they've been this year, they still currently own any and all bragging rights against us. And I'm a firm believer in "throwing the records out the window this weekend." This game brings out Sparty's best every single year, and they'll be foaming at the mouth to get the chance to ruin our season.

Everyone can neg the shit out of me if they want, but I'd much rather just keep my mouth shut until the game is over and the scoreboard says we have more points than them. At that point, I'll talk shit about Sparty all day. But eight years of PTSD against these asswipes has taken its toll.

Just remember guys. We should never be afraid of Little Brother. My little brother is now 29 and weighs 40 pounds more than I do, but I was never afraid of him before and I never will from here on out. They may win one or have a little streak of their own, but that doesn't change the fact that they're still Little Brother. LITTLE BROTHER WILL ALWAYS BE LITTLE BROTHER. STOP BEING NERVOUS ABOUT YOUR LITTLE BROTHER. Sparty is absolutely terrified of Saturday as they should be. Scared to wear their Sparty green because they are horrified of what is to come. Too scares to be noticed. Jabrill Peppers is going to puncture some Sparty wounds and make them bleed. MO is going to eat Sparty for breakfast, second breakfast, lunch and dinner and be rubbin that belly all day long - He be eatin GOOD on Saturday. Little Brother will be remembered once again as Little Brother after Saturday. It will he a good day.

Historically, rivalry games are toss ups no matter which team is better on paper.  But I think this game is very different.  1.  We have WAY better athletes all over the field.  2.  We are PISSED.  3.  HARBAUGH.  We may start slow, but in the end, it won't be close.  We didn't score in our first 3 drives against Rutgers, yet managed to pull that one out.

I'm in the crowd that is still pessimistic about this game (PTSD), but I feel the one true difference in this one is our defense, especially in the trenches.

Same can probably said about our offensive line against their D-line minus McDowell. I'm not the most knowledgable on X's and O's, but I do know games are won and lost up front. We seem to have a big advantage here.

Aside from some missed field goals, our special teams has been stellar as well.

The magic 8-ball says we should be in good shape.

than in years past.

I've been sporting my "The Team The Team The Team" sweatshirt and classic M hat all week.

I was at that 49-3 blowout of Sparty in 2002 in Michigan Stadium. I actually felt sorry for them.

Not any more! Not after enduring the past 8 years. Not after "60 minutes of unnecessary roughness". Not after watching Denard almost getting his head screwed off. Not after their players taunting our student section after last years game. Not after all the one-sided penalty calling by the refs. Not after Clockgate!

Send the Sparty ants scurring back into the woodwork were they belong.

Screw'em! Pile up the points! Let's make this game an epic beatdown; one for the record books! Lets make it the worst home loss ever in Spartan stadium! Lets eclipse NW and make it the most points ever scored by an opponent in Spartan Stadium.

Our biggest victory and Spartys worst home loss in Spartan stadium was 42-0 in 1983!

NW scored 54 this year.

This isn't the wrath of Khan. Michigan lost the game last year, Sparty didn't win and the past is the past. "revenge" sets yourself up for failure. Just go out on their field and kick their @ss.

I was at a tailgate before a UM-MSU game one year, and a guy was there who had played for Michigan State in the 70s. He was really proud of his Big 10 championship ring, started showing it off, the whole deal.

I asked him "so how did you like that Rose Bowl trip?" and gave him the smirk that I knew full well they were on probation and couldn't go.

Maybe not a good idea, but I couldn't help it. Best thing Woody ever did, turning Sparty in to the NCAA.

Three of these guys picked MSU over UM, making it a close 4-3 decision -- but note, these picks are made against the spread. They just happen to think we win by less than 24.

On a side note, looks like most everyone thinks that NW will keep it (relatively) close to OSU. I happen to think so, as well.

But, I wanna see us come out of the gates fired up and ready to rock right away. No giving MSU any small hope of pulling the upset. Crush their hopes and dreams immediately.

Looking forward to (trying to) watch and/or follow along 8,000 miles away from home.

The smart play is to start conservative and grind down State, with occasional shots downfield. By the end of the Maryland game, the Terps were shoving Sparty out of the way and going for 5-6 right up the gut. Michigan has a much better offensive line and running backs. State will push back early and might even grab a lead but they don't have the talent or depth to grind with Michigan this year.

I don't see the downside if you are- you aren't go to feel any worse after a loss, if you did than if you didn't and if you are confident then say it. On the other hand for any of you with individual superstitions, go ahead and indulge them.
