Michigan Monday up at The Ozone
Michigan Monday is up for the Illinois game. "The Calm before some more calm." Gerdeman continues to be a good read. Here are a handful of quotes.
The Wolverines were never tested in this game, just as they have never been tested by any of their lesser opponents. Even when they have been tested by Colorado and Wisconsin, they responded with every necessary answer. And they are only getting more confident and more selfless and more united in what they are doing.
I really have no idea how Ohio State is going to defend Michigan's tight ends. I don't expect them to do it very well. Jake Butt caught three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown, and Tyrone Wheatley Jr. caught two passes for 27 yards and a touchdown.
It means that Michigan has yet to play down to an opponent this season and it would be a huge surprise if they do so at any point in 2016. A wrecking ball doesn't slow down for smaller buildings, and Michigan doesn't slow down because Illinois is lined up in front of them. The Wolverines do not discriminate. They do not have remorse. They do not feel pity. If Michigan is going to be beaten by any Big Ten team this season, it will take that team's best effort of the year because they are going to get the Wolverines' best effort. More than anywhere else, this is where Jim Harbaugh excels. He's basically an extreme couponer regarding talent -- he gets every last cent out of his guys.

It's not as much fun as it was at the beginning of the season when he was watching this cute awkward lion cub grow up. Now it's fully grown and, shit, it's scary.

Adult Simba had the voice of Matthew Broderick. Adult Simba the Michigan Football team variety has the voice of Mufasa (i.e. James Earl Jones)...

And it makes me wonder, would the MGoBlogerati read an equivalent take on OSU every week? That team drives me nuts but I still appreciate their significance to UM. The yin to our yang (or whichever).

We have a lot of talent writing for this blog. But... I suspect Michigan Monday takes a lot of effort each week and I'm ont sure how the staff could handle it with their current assignments.

Yeah, Tony G. is on a different level. He follows Michigan closely and knows what he is talking about. He doesn't just drop in for a half and write up some stuff and throw it out there.
He knows as much about Michigan as many of us.

Opponent Watch is one of my favorite weekly posts, I would definitely read a more in depth post about OSU written in the same way.

with this. I would love to see a bit more actually written about OSU, instead of just "MurderDeathKill" I appreciate the humor, but until a week ago, NO ONE has been critical of OSU, and I suspect it's because no one has looked at them critically, just seeing wins and proclaiming them great. Would enjoy an in depth read on them, strengthsm, and weaknesses etc.

I think most sci-fi fans got the shout-out to T1. When I first read it, I actually would have downvoted him (had I had the ability) b/c he got the quote wrong. But like he said, he wrote it late.

I think the question is about Colarado's offense, not their defense. Colarado's offense (total offense) is ranked 18th in country as of this past week.

"Michigan put up 561 yards of total offense, which was just 39 yards below what they did against Rutgers when they defeated the Scarlet Knights a million to nothing two weeks ago."
I think Harbaugh respects Lovie Smith. Chris Ash? Not so much.

To borrow a (paraphrased) quote, it is important to have both a public and a private position on things like this

JH has never shown contempt for them, which is perfect. Show it on the field, then move on.

JMFH says the right things because MSU has been the better team in recent years. I'm sure he has some respect for Mick's coaching, the guy did make MSU relevant. But that's where it ends. Myche is a low class person - a HC that calls out opponent players and fans. JMFH does not respect that.

Hey, aren't you the guy who was pissed and adamant that PSU should've gone for it on 4th and 16 instead of kicking a field goal in their eventual 2 point victory over OSU?

This. Our DL is way better than PSU's and they (with help from special teams) won the game for PSU. I can't wait to see Wormley/Taco/Gary against the OSU tackles.
