The goal should not be to win against this hated rival it should be to put up more points than OSU scored against them on Saturday.

Looking forward to a 77-0 win with the fourth string getting action.

Don't know if you've noticed - many on here seem unaware - but that OL, and losing Newsome was a blow, has been quietly putting it together over the past two, three weeks.

Obviously, with T.J. Watts and their other outside defenders we could not use the sprint draws and plays of that nature that we employed the previous weekend. And Drevno and Harbaugh are all about a new game plan for each new opponent. What it did, however, was call for some inside runs and there was actually chunk yardage in there against a stout DL. A couple were one tackler from taking it to the house. The OL has really been improving in terms of accomplishing their primary assignment and then hauling ass downfield to get yet another back at the second level. Execution isn't always great, but I see it coming together.

I think, and it won't happen of course, but we could probably cover without throwing a pass next weekend. But because it assists the running game even more we, of course will employ it.

A small amount of concern on my part is lack of separation that was there between our top two outside receivers and defenders last season. I don't know if Jake was seeing the field quicker and thereby hitting the open receivers, but this season it seems like a struggle. Perhaps defenses are becoming more familiar with our passing schemes, routes normally seen by Darboh and Chesson, etc.,, but that does concern me somewhat.

Also, question for the board. Did Peppers running the read option look - pre called as handoffs signal a possible read option package for him  as the season goes on? I believe the coaches and as bright as he is as to football IQ, I don't think he'd have difficulty reading the correct man and distributing it accordingly. It does require significant practice though and between the same two people. I don't know, given all else that he does, if this is actually a viable offensive threat. Opinions?

Concerning your question on Peppers in the read option. To me, not an expert, it looked predetermined. Whether it was called from the sideline or determined by Peppers in the huddle is something we might never know. I just have the feeling that the Peppers trickery and touches are being saved. He was such a decoy in those plays and why risk the hits in game 5? Just my ideas and observations. I could be wrong.

Something about a huge spread, game after a huge win, and first road game has me nervous. Then I read through Harbaughs post game press comments about preparing for a championship game and I felt 100% better. I'll say Michigan wins 49-3.

Well luckily with the amount of Michigan fans that will be flooding in from the city, it should be close to a neutral site game, if not slightly in Michigan's favor.

I went to the away game against Northwestern in '11, and Michigan fans took over everywhere in that stadium that wasn't the student section. It'll be the same principle next weekend.

This is going to be Rutgers' Super Bowl. You can bet Ash has had this game circled in red ink since he set foot in NJ.

Hopefully it'll make little difference.

The only guy on their whole team that concerned me, Janarion Grant, is now done for the year. I hope Harbaugh curb stomps the hell out of that Stripe the Birthplace bullshit next weekend.

No quarter. No mercy. Hoping for a 63-0 shellacking.

This man doesn't forget a thing. With all the shit Ash had to say about the satellite camps, specifically that Saban, not Harbaugh was correct as to the benefits and/or detriments of satellite camps, Harbaugh is about to show him the benefits.

He's like a women this way. He doesn't forget a slight, no matter how small most of us would perceive it. Love that about him. Makes the players do the things they do,.

Kenny Allen was money last year on everything from 40 yards in, it is surely a mental thing that he's now missing.  Nor do I believe the shinola that kickoffs, punts, and place kicking is too great a work load.  Running backs and fullbacks are asked to run the ball between tackles, catch the ball out of the backfield, and provide pass protection.  Three entirely different skills all of which need to be performed at a very high rate of efficiency.  I don't think it's asking too much from a kicker, who enjoys special exemption from physical punishment, to perform the three kicking duties.

The next two games should give a good opportunity to work on some things and get tuned up for the MSU game. I want to crush those guys.
