And, yes, go Oklahoma. An undefeated or 1 loss Michigan team is not getting left out of the playoff. So, I don't care about SOS.

Sparty, especially because they are on our schedule (SOS, a chance to beat them), and ND is not.
Long term, ND and Ohio State are bigger threats to Michigan (recruiting, all-time wins, etc.) than MSU is.
Add that ND needs to be eliminated as possible competition for a playoff spot, and PERCEIVED SOS based on reputation of the conferences (B1G vs. ACC), and so I think we should probably pull for the Spartans.
The Buckeyes and Sooners? Hmmm, that might be another matter. Will find it almost impossible to root for Ohio State while Meyer is there. I am sure Buckeye fans will feel the same about Harbaugh sooner or later. But I think they want to make it a meaningful rivalry again. Watching the Ohio State game at a bar last year with fans from both sides, several Buckeye fans were genuinely sad that game and the series in the last decade weren't more competitive. I think they really want their hate to mean something.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobody!!!!
Oh, I thought that this was a call and response like "Who's got it better than us?"

I'm taking ND in this game since its at home, and they're a more tested team at this point. MSU played pretty poorly against a lowly FCS team. Sure this is how they usually start out over the last few years, but it's still a bad time to be trying to get things together.
MSU's defense keeps it close, but ND pulls away with a late field goal to keep their playoff hopes alive. In the end, they're a more balanced team right now.

But I want the B10 to win as many out of conference games as possible. Any B10 OOC win is good for Michigan.

I'm in the "Fuck Notre Dame" camp and always root against them.
That said, I would not shed any tears if they win, since Texas already took them down.

I am hopeful the Domers thrash them and then Sparty gets ball stomped by Wisconsin. It would make for a quietly wonderful two weeks in West Michigan.

but let's break it down to see who I should root against more. High score wins (or loses.) i.e., whoever scores more I will root against.
I want Michigan to regain the highest all-time winning percentage. ND +3 points
I want Michigan to be the first team to 1000 wins. ND +1 point
Disrespekt. MSU +3 points
Bryan Kelly's purple face: ND +1 point
Mike Dantoni's scowl: MSU +2 points
I grew up in East Lansing and had to deal with sparties: MSU +2 points
My mom still lives in East Lansing and there are a few good sparty fans. A very few. MSU -1 point.
Notre Dame fans are for the most part reasonable people. ND -1 point.
Pride comes before the fall. I want the fall to come hard for sparty this year. MSU +3 points.
ND chickened out of the series with Michigan. ND +1 point.
I have way more FB sparty friends to deal with. MSU +1 point.
Big Ten pride, ND +1
Grand tally: MSU 10, ND 6, wow, it's a wipeout. Go Irish, I guess.

But one is on our schedule - so I have to pull for them this week.

I want to get the highest wining percentage back, and we need ND to lose for that to happen.

Damn... beat me to it!
What do I like... a meteor to hit the 50 yd line!
Seriously, I'll take ND all day long! Both fanbases are insufferable. The difference is, ND has been there before -- they actually have something to crow about.
Lil bro still measure success against the barometer of UM... rather than simple celebrating their own accomplishments.

1. Always root against OSU.
2. Always root against ND, unless they are playing OSU.
3. Always root against MSU, unless they are playing OSU or ND.
Always follow these three rules. That's it.

I have State starting 1-2, with back to back losses against ND and Wiscy. Think the luck runs out this year. ND is too deep offensively, and playing a home night game just gives them even more of an advantage. 35-13.

MSU returning to mediocrity is good for Michigan. Let's restore that part of world order before we focus on ND. Besides, I think ND is headed for a retreat-Kelly has done a good job but I think he will jump to the NFL when he gets a chance.

I have this dread that both MSU and OSU win this weekend. I think ND is depleated enough on D and OK is so over-rated that it's inevitable that they win. I would love to shower in the tears of a thousand crying spartan fans though.

Regardless of what Sparty does w/ND we will be ok if we carry our own water correctly the rest of the way. If not, it will be as it should.
ND is just too talented for this bunch of Spartans though, even with the ?s on defense. The Spartans are going to have a difficult time handling this bunch of Domers. They have talent and depth all over the field, although with the time it will take their defense to completely gel, if Sparty is going to get them, it will be in a scenario such as this, early in the year.

with Kizer at QB is a really good team. They should win...30-13.
September 13th, 2016 at 5:59 PM ^
1) OSU
2) MSU
3) ND
This implies I want ND to beat MSU. It wasn't always that way. There was a time when I rooted for MSU when they weren't facing UM. But the recent losses, and my better understanding of the MSU fan base (from MGoBlog) have soured me on MSU. I finally saw the light.

I think ND has the edge here, they played an alright game against what appears to be a formidble Texas team while Sparty was struggling with a 3-8 FCS team

sparty just can't hang with Kizer imo.

Notre Dame will win in a blowout. Kizer will go off on sparty and they wont be able to keep up.
September 14th, 2016 at 12:33 AM ^
But in the last 8 years sparty has moved up my list as the team I hate most, just hair over ND.
Teams I hate most: 1.) Sparty, 2.) ND, 3.) OSU. It is possible that as we go back to a more normal universe, then ND may take over the number 1 spot again.
