It's Game Day / Can't sleep thread

There's a very loud thunderstorm close to where I live at the moment. One lightening strike was so close that it set off the security alarm. Curious to see what everyone is looking forward to seeing once game time is here. I'm looking forward to seeing Evans pick up where he left off last week.

I'm up unusually early in Chicago ... partly because I've slept longer-than-usual the past few nights. I plan to meet some people at the "Big Shoulders" swim this morning.

Awoke at 5:00am here in Braxton County, WV ...

Game is now 6 hours away.  Will be listening to it on Sirius radio (no TV here).

First up -- some yard work.  Hiring the local pastor's son to help ... he's 14 and looking for some pocket money, so it's a win/win: I get some assistance, he gets some money.

Pastor is a big Ohio State fan, and we have a friendly rivalry going about it.  In church on Sunday I'm going to present him with a beautiful Michigan T-shirt. :-)

Because it's a fun thing to do.  It's part of our back-and-forth civil joshing of each other.  It's what I really love about college football -- I love the friendly rivalalries.

Well, except for Notre Dame.  I can't stand Notre Dame.

but there is a window of about the first half that i should be able to be home and watching the game.

local games today which is nice, first of the year for the three middle sons.   the twins (pictured in the avatar) play at 10.   next oldest son plays at 2:30.

cold brew coffee right now.  might go for a short-ish mountain bike ride before i wake everybody up to do barn chores and start the football day!

Heading up to Indianapolis from Evansville this morning to see my brother and best friend with wife and kid, so packing up and getting ready to hit the road. We were supposed to go to the zoo today, but with the rain we are just going to lunch and hopefully catch most of the game! Kinda works out for me!

two nights. Been awake since 4:30. Wife is sleeping like a baby. I don't expect UM to be as perfect as they were last week, but I hope that they execute well. Anxious to see more from the freshmen. Hope the rain stops.

Taking my daughter to her first game. Hope the rain doesn't ruin her experience. Almost picked up an extra
Season ticket for her but wanted to see how she does first. She will be 7 in two weeks.

I live about 20 minutes from the stadium, and while we didn't get thunder, we managed to get a goodly amount of rain overnight with supposedly more to come later today. I walked already as I have some things to do this morning, and we had quite a bit of street flooding in some parts of the subdivision.

That said, the nice thing about football is that it doesn't quit for rain necessarily, so I can cheer for my alma mater in a downpour too.

Since everyone else is still sleeping, I'm inclined to give it to him. Also, for the nerds, BBC America is running a Star Trek marathon right now. So we've got that going for us. Which is nice.

Taking my Mrs, 5 year old daughter and my Dad. Don't mind the rain as long as the lightning stays away.

The thunderstorm over A2 woke me up overnight, wonder what the golf course conditions are like

Does anyone know if the zippered seat cushions (that can be unzipped to become two cushions) are allowed in the stadium?

It says that seat cushions with pockets aren't allowed, but that wouldn't seem to apply here since you can unzip to easily show there's nothing inside.

Any insight is appreciated, thanks.

I got to sleep in late, until 0730 until the kiddos wanted to play the Xbox.  I'll give em a few minutes until Gameday comes on and my coffee is ready.  But then they had the gall to have soccer games right during the Michigan game!  Going to have to watch it on the Watch ESPN app to make it thru the day.
