Hey look, SDSU is up 17-7 on TCU according to ABC. Early, but interesting.

That would certainly be the cherry on top of a miserable day for the Big 12. If they take a couple of serious losses out of conference they would need a series of bizarre faceplants to make the playoff. Eliminating one conference from the top of the race early would be good for us.

If we're good enough.

Obviously it's too early to know how things will shake out. But it never hurts to start planning ahead. The Wisconsin game makes the B1G look a lot more respectable and will flip some comparative stats; meanwhile, the SEC looks a whole lot less likely to get two teams into the playoff, which wasn't by any means a big possibility but was floated by people who thought LSU and Bama could both make it.

It would be very, very easy for Michigan to acquire one loss, even if we are every bit as good as we hope. It's just so hard to go undefeated. Were Michigan to win the conference title with one loss, today's events are huge positives.

Heh. Can't recall where, but I think someone said that Tulsa had to watch out for an upset from San Jose State. You know, the place where Al Borges went. Also Ron English, FWIW.

Tulsa leads 45-7.

I'm surprised that USC didn't complain more about that bama receiver being out of bounds on the TD. Yeah he was pushed, but he ran half his route out of bounds. I think there's something about how far you can go out of bounds and that you have to go back in bounds as quickly as possible?

Ref made some bad calls against NC...  Ga did not win that game...

Seriously, inegilible man down field when the lineman did not even go beyond 3 years line of scrimmage... Which negated NC momentum (and a first down)...  Then Fedora got livid and that led to a safety...

Then they call a questionable Pass Interference (and even then) and then get a first down catch and the ref/official reverse call on a stand call on a catch... And they had to punt and Chubb score a TD after the punt...

I can't tell if both USC/Bama are playing bad or really well. Maybe a bit of both. I don't know. It does look like Bama is starting to wear USC down though. Max Brown looks lost out there.

This is a legit question, because Michigan fans are thinking playoff. If we get there, we have to expect to run into Alabama at some point.

And that's where some of the handwringing about the OL comes from. Because to win a title you have to face the elite lines.

We have one. They have one. Can we hold up?

Bama D is just too good. Really pisses me off how cfb isn't even close to a level playing field with the NCAA completely abdicating any enforcement role over the last half dozen years.

Also, Ruffin should be suspended.

1. What makes you think the sport has ever been clean?

2. I think it is probable that Alabama is significantly cheating. I also think that they are not the only one by any stretch. A guy getting $10k from Bama and $10k from Ole Miss could go to Ole Miss and play more... or they could go to a place they know will win them championships.

It's not hard to see why Alabama draws, and it's not just the money. They win.
