Also, I could see how widely disparate drinking habits could drive two people apart, but if my wife swims and I ride a bike it probably doesn't move he needle.

Twelve years into marriage and drinking is still the only way I can get through certain shows when I am watching them with my wife, so I can see where they are coming from here actually.
I recently introduced her to whiskey - I found it unfathomable that, in her 36 years on Earth, she claimed never to have had whiskey. Having been recently cleared for drinking, I was also trying to prep for football season admittedly.
By the way, this thread title sounds a lot like a Michigan Daily headline.

This is like that study that married men live longer.
When something goes wrong with your body, there is someone living with you to call the bloody ambulance or help dislodge the spear sticking through your head. You're slightly less likely to die because of this.
The phrase, "a new study has discovered that" should IMMEDIATELY be followed with skepticism by all rational beings.

Well, maybe that's true but I drank with so many girls and so many times with some of them and I married none of them. Moreover, I once decided to follow the link and found a list of dating websites. Of course, I check and try them regularly.
