06/27/2018 - 9:05am So to pile on what everyone…

So to pile on what everyone else is saying... For me, M-Football is not a stress reliever. In a season where we are undefeated or will achieve a big goal, that is often the most stressful

Over the past 2 years my life has nearly turned upside down and I had to learn very quickly a lot about stress, dealing with it and understanding actual mental health issues as my family was going through quite a lot. This doesn't make me an expert on anything as one of the first things you learn is that shit is different for everyone, haha go figure. There is no single answer or explanation.

Almost a year ago someone I met told me "Anxiety is a form of stress from thinking about the future, and depression is a form of stress from thinking about the past". Those may not apply to someone reading this on mgb, but I thought that was a very elegant way to describe a cause for many stressors people handle throughout life.

The biggest hurdle most people have to manage, especially if you are stressed about someone else's situation is that "don't sweat what you cannot control". It doesn't mean you give 0 fucks. It just means that you have to also live your life and you can't force a situation or illness into being better or cured. That isn't some hippie balogna either, I just feel that's just a good way to view life.

For any stress, day-to-day work stress, life stress, etc... just find what can put a smile on your face. It's a very important reason to have hobbies. They distract and bring joy, or simply distract; which can often be all most will need. Recently, I've found yard work to be very relaxing. Being productive, and seeing something go from ugly to less-ugly. It's tougher when you don't find a way to "escape" for a bit. All your mind wants to do is focus on what is stressing you out. My wife recently learned a way to meditate that worked for her. I immediately told her that I wanted her to show me. Also if you can share the experience with others and you like hanging with your friends then that is even better.

Fun candy experiement! close your eyes plug your nose and ask someone to give you a skittle and try to tell what color it was.

04/09/2018 - 1:00pm Just found the show last

Just found the show last night. Binged 5 eps. Happy that we have a show to watch that goes behind the scenes like this. You can tell a lot is edited out, but this is for fans so it's only for entertainment. My few thoughts:

  1. Harbaugh is a dad. Dad jokes, dad stories, dad actions. A Dad. He is very different and intense but I don't think they captured that in the series. That's fine, we don't need to see everything
  2. Some things I think we should not be privy to seeing. Gary's mom is amazing, Gary is a great player and seems like a great son, but I felt like I was given front row seats to a very private family talk when he and his mom were at that restaurant. On a side note, I love how his mom is all about Rashan giving a diva face in photos and getting a manicure and pedicure.
  3. I recall less of the bad moments from last season, thank god. I remember the feelings after each game though.
  4. Don Brown is a great DC, everyone has already mentioned why and I agree.
  5. Our offense seemed lost while our defense had an identity from game 1 and on..
  6. Devin Bush's dad seems awesome and  in general I liked all of the family elements displayed in the series. Reminds everyone it's more than a game.
  7. Winovich is a dude, a blonde dude, and his hair stylist doesn't follow sports. Also Winovich has a very convincing bear growl.
  8. Mo's Uber pickup was a funny scene. Definitely the average student.
  9. The trip to Rome was great and I wish more kids could experience such things.
  10. That Purdue hit on Speight still pisses me off. How was that not called!??! look at the guy he had to wear torso brace. Later on in the episode he talks about how he tried sitting for the first time, because he couldn't initially. wtf....
  11. The versions of Speight and JOK portrayed on the show need to look inwards before blaming others. I feel that coaching staff knew how lacking their were at QB long before the season.
  12. Brittney Papadopolus, the academic coach talking to Gary. That was a great scene.
  13. These kids work their asses off and it makes me proud to be a wolverine.
  14. Next year will be great.

Okay, now everyone give someone a high five!

09/26/2017 - 7:48am I just looked up that tweet.

I just looked up that tweet. I can't believe anyone would compare the safety standards for any person to the provision of depth charts to broadcasters. I agree, I don't get this at all. Wow.

I wonder what car they said they'd buy him. Does it look like Hand's?

01/20/2017 - 2:38pm Harbaugh is going to invite

Harbaugh is going to invite the staff, the players, and all of their families to wherever they plan on going this year. So it isn't about football, it's about family. A family trip, and the players by coincidence happen to be in the same place as the rest of the team and the coaches.

11/08/2016 - 6:34am maybe because i've seen more

maybe because i've seen more of the bigger blowouts type games in the past decade, but one of the more interesting points in this article is that this is the first season in their history that OSU has had 3 games with a point differential greater than 56. I know it isnt' easy to do, but that surprised me.

11/04/2016 - 7:13am Pumped for this weekend

Having my bachelor party tomorrow. Starting the day off tailgating, then going to the game. Haven't been to a game since 2011. Then chillin in AA and going to bars. Going to be a great day.

Honestly, I just learned a lot from these mannequins. I had no idea that the secret to larger pectorals was by doing the chest press with two loaves fo bread. These other football teams have no clue what's coming.

11/04/2016 - 6:46am I would guess that's it just

I would guess that's it just a mental thing. You know you're not at home so if you play differently it's because you feel different. The sights, sounds, smell, feel. It isn't something you're as used to.

I agree on the intersting finds on the double teams. I think on heavy formations, if given the time to switch up personnel, 5 DL would work. I think if caught off guard for a O formation that doens't require 5 DL is where we will get hit. But if you do that you're probably bringing in another end, and probably one that coudl play LB, like Winovich. Maybe somethign to do against Iowa.

11/03/2016 - 11:06am I was going to say this. I

I was going to say this. I feel like if it's anything to keep putting on game file then it's a small piece to a larger play. Train, no time to form up. Morris throws a bomb.

11/03/2016 - 10:13am Not even for the shade of

Not even for the shade of anti-harbaugh, but the rule is just dumb. I don't even get why it's an issue.

11/03/2016 - 7:58am Under 2 min left in a game

Under 2 min left in a game (could be less time, but thinking 2min drill and everything) a DPI should be a spot foul. If the penalty was in the endzone then the ball should be placed at the one. A DPI or OPI penalty within the final 2 min of the game should be reviewable.

Placing the ball at the spot of the foul is good to prevent Defenses who are relying on 15 yard penalties and wasting time just to prevent the offesnse from making plays. The ability to review these calls takes the weight off the refs' shoulders. The penalties are automatically reviewed by the booth just like they do with TDs. I do think this will slow the game down a bit, and especially on drives carrying a ton of momentum. I also think this could create games where a lot more PI's are called late in the, but I also think for most games it won't change much.

11/03/2016 - 7:39am This is a bad move. Delany

This is a bad move. Delany should feel bad. This shouldn't be a Delany decision, it shoudl be in full control of the host school. If they want a Friday game then they will have a discussion with teh opposing school's AD. Coming to an agreement they can then notify the B1G that they will be playing on Friday.  I can't speak for schools that make less money than Michigan does, but maybe they can use the extra exposure and TV money.

10/31/2016 - 7:34am As a fan, who is biased, I

As a fan, who is biased, I wanted a blowout. All of the past 8 years answered for in this one game. Seeing a tight game was not a surprise for me. After MSU scored on the first drive I knew that they came to play instead of laying down. As they should, it's a rivalry game. However there was not one time in this game where I felt worried. "If only MSU had 2 more minutse of game time" some have said. Michigan answered every push and punch MSU threw. Scoring on consecutive drives, MSU couldn't stop us. Sparty fans can talk about morale victories, which don't mean anything to players and coaches. Those are for us fans and for our water cooler conversations. The national perspective on this game is "Michigan went up by 20 at the start of the 4th quarter then played conservatively and MSU tried everything they could to make it competitive. Michigan was never in a position to lose this game." That's all that needs to be said.

TL;DR Let's jsut all laugh at how bad OSU is looking. HAHAHAHAHA NW almost beat you!!!!

10/11/2016 - 6:42am Cant' blame the kid for only

Cant' blame the kid for only wanting to be an LB and not be recruited as a FB. That's some of what I read into it. Also on the link to his anouncement on Twitter it looks like he tells a classmate that he wants to be looked at as an LB and not on the DL. The DL part is new, but I can see why he's shopping around. A school has a need for him at FB and LB and he wants to only play at LB. I don't knwo much about his recruitment though.
