OT: Calvin Johnson tells Jim Caldwell that 2015 was his last season

From what I've read you are correct. Retiring is treated the same way as if he were cut/traded for this years cap number and then off the books in future years. That leaves them with about $30 mil in cap space but also a ton of holes to fill besides WR.

Can't blame the guy one bit. He was the one player that kept me watching Lions games when there really wasn't much other reason to. As stated above, it was the same with Barry.

Yea ok he might not be great but he's solid. I mean look at how many teams needed just a serviceable QB. Jets,texans, and cowboys just to name a few. Plus they have had no running game or very good Oline play for a little while now.
