Welp.

It's "per Schefty," however it's also scrolling across the ESPN Bottom Line right now.

That's too bad. I hope that he changes his mind and plays again. Watching him take over a game is a true joy to see. It's a shame his body is so broken down.

Can't blame the guy one bit. He was the one player that kept me watching Lions games when there really wasn't much other reason to. As stated above, it was the same with Barry.

Both of them were truly once-in-a-generation talents and always appeared to be class acts.

We have had two, maybe even 3 of the best to play their position (Sanders, Johnson, and Hanson) and won nothing. 2016 was also looking promising. Nothing good will ever come out of this team. They might as well just fold and I'm 100% serious.

I'm sure he got upset about being under used. So it is better to retire than playing for a loser. Barry decided the same! Both probably had another 5 years but why play 5 more years with a loser.

5 years ago I would have been shocked by this. That was before CTE was brought to the forefront. Won't be shocking to see this happening more often. What a talented player.

The last couple years, as awful as they've been to watch, at least you had the opportunity to watch THE BEST at his position. Not anymore. I'm going to have a real hard time watching that crap sandwich next year.
