OT: Movies that you're embarrassed to admit you love.

No...it IS a really good movie.

Saw Clueless for the first time recently. My thought was how did Alicia Silverstone not become a total superstar after that? Funny, smart, and smoking hot. She really didn't have much of a career after. From what I gather she seems to have just wanted a normal life.

yesterday for MLK Day. He's a HS freshman. I'm at work and he texts me "I'm bored". I told him to grab the iPad, put in the earbuds and watch these three movies: Leon, the Professional, then Beautiful Girls, then Reservoir Dogs. I walked in the house about 6:30, the kid comes over and hugs me and says "I Love You, Dude".
True story.
Really love me some Natalie Portman.

Denis Leary is hilarious. It's one of our must-watch Christmas movies every year.

Yep, that's a Christmas tradition for me too. Most people don't even know about it. But then I have a sick sense of humor. Judy Davis shreds in that movie too.

Dennis Leary is a hack that stole his entire act from Bill Hicks.

Why in the world would one be embarrassed about liking Interstellar? That is one of Nolan's best movies. Also, the people who hate it are the ones who (usually) cannot understand it.

Would highly recommend.

I saw that movie and people who like it should be embarrassed. The dude in that movie (Tommie from 3rd rock from the sun) is super annoying and whiney. (I'm mearly validating the post you commented on, not trying to ridicule.)

Was also going to say 500 Days of Summer. It's basically a chick-flick, but for 20-something male romantics; thus, the potentially "embarrassing" tag. But, I love it, it has a lot of funny moments, it has a bitter sweet ending and Zooey Deschanel is Zooey Deschanel.

GIFSoup Pootie Tang will draw you a picture of how he's gonna kick your a**, then mail it to you ten days in advance. The picture gets there, right? You go, "What the hell is this?" Then Pootie Tang knocks on your door, promptly kicks your a**, and you still won't know what happened to you!

My go to answer used to be Mean Girls or Pitch Perfect but they went really mainstream so there is nothing embarassing about them. So, I'll say She's All That. Love it.

Welp, if we are getting it all out there, mine would be The Break Up, just some great lines in that movie as well as Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Why be embarrassed? Rudy is my favorite football movie.
Lots of people noting movies that are really good and popular and I don't understand why some of you fine people are saying you're embarrassed that you like them.

Good date movies that I wound up watching several times by myself later and enjoying more each time.
Love Actually is an Xmas staple in our household ( RIP Snape).

- Simon Birch
- The Notebook
- Animal House
- It's a Wonderful Life
- Downton Abby
- Terminator
- Witness
- Joyeaux Noel
I suppose none of these are "terrible" movies, but I can watch them again and again and again.
January 19th, 2016 at 8:52 AM ^
LOL, embarrassed about liking Terminator. That is interesting considering it's one of the best movies ever.
