Eddie McDoom decommits from Oregon, will visit Michigan this coming weekend

This is according to 247. We are back in the running for best named recruit.

Also, Steve Wiltfong has ballz'd Kiante Enis to IU. This might be thread worthy but the board is probably ballz'd out for the day.

Edit: Ryan Bartow, one of 247's lead analysts, has ballz'd McDoom to Michigan. It appears that this is happening.

Reminds me of that year Richrod's first 3 or 4 commits were wide receivers. I wanna say Jeremy Jackson, Ricardo Miller, Jerald Robinson, and DJ WIlliamson were the first 4 in on that class. (What a blast from the past just to type some of those names)

Love McDoom's film. He's got speed we lack on offense currently (excluding Chesson) and among our recruits, especially if Enis leaves. Wouldn't mind seeing Stewart join the fold offensively as well.

Sounds like Oregon was happy with him, but basically needs bodies on defense.  They basically said we can't afford to sit on you and miss out on other guys.  I think they fill his spot with a defensive prospect and don't really push for Crawford.

It'll be awesome because we have coaches who can develop players.

We just had a legendary class a few years ago and none of the top players did anything.

Derrick Green, Dymonte Thomas, Shane Morris, Patrick Kugler, Kyle Bosch, David Dawson, Chris Fox.

That class was supposed to be program changing.

Luckily it also produced, Jourdan Lewis, Jake Butt, DeVeon Smith, Delano Hill, Mo Hurst...and Poggi and Charlton. 7 lower rather prospects who are all better than the top 7 guys listed above.

This class likely won't be rated higher than that one. Even with Gary and co.

The difference is Harbaugh and this staff.

Which is why he started over him for the majority of the season.

Thomas got a LOT better. But the point wasn't necessarily ranking the players. It was ranking them to their "hype" or star rating. The fact that it's even close is the problem. Thomas was a 5* blue chip.

Good because we need an elite route runner in the slot for this offense. Crawford is a perfect fit.

I'm just not sure why we ever recruited or accepted Nate Johnson's commit. He came out of nowhere, we're now recruiting WRs all over the place, he was never a highly recruited guy. It's just been weird.
