Eddie McDoom decommits from Oregon, will visit Michigan this coming weekend
This is according to 247. We are back in the running for best named recruit.
Also, Steve Wiltfong has ballz'd Kiante Enis to IU. This might be thread worthy but the board is probably ballz'd out for the day.
Edit: Ryan Bartow, one of 247's lead analysts, has ballz'd McDoom to Michigan. It appears that this is happening.

Reminds me of that year Richrod's first 3 or 4 commits were wide receivers. I wanna say Jeremy Jackson, Ricardo Miller, Jerald Robinson, and DJ WIlliamson were the first 4 in on that class. (What a blast from the past just to type some of those names)

Close - Antonio Kinard was fourth. D.J. Williamson was fifth.

McDoom confirmed with Ryan Bartow of 247Sports his decision and the reasoning.
"Basically I told Oregon I was going to visit Michigan and they took away my scholarship," McDoom said. "I was fine with it because I wanted to weigh my options."

Nah, I don't think Brady is in Eugene yet. He can't walk that fast.

If it's speed you want, it's odd that you mention wanting Stewart.

I think we can thank Hoke for this. I mean, its Michigan Fer God's sakes.
January 17th, 2016 at 11:25 PM ^
Well at this point I have no idea who we're going to get to finish the class and who's going to end up leaving the class.

Me too, on one hand it's exciting. On the other, it's kind of annoying because you can't get a read on anything.
On the other hand, it's nerve racking...because it's all going to come down to the last few days and there are no guarantees.

I was wondering how some of our posters got so many MGoPoints. Mr. Yost has (at least) three hands? That helps explain how he can post so much!

You should see my 3rd leg.

Me too. The more I read about recruiting, which I haven't in the past... the less I know!

Sounds like Oregon was happy with him, but basically needs bodies on defense. They basically said we can't afford to sit on you and miss out on other guys. I think they fill his spot with a defensive prospect and don't really push for Crawford.

Then it really is the #HokeEffect. Thank you, Brady.

There's always room for Pie. This is gonna be the kind of recruiting class that hasn't been seen in a Long time.

It'll be awesome because we have coaches who can develop players.
We just had a legendary class a few years ago and none of the top players did anything.
Derrick Green, Dymonte Thomas, Shane Morris, Patrick Kugler, Kyle Bosch, David Dawson, Chris Fox.
That class was supposed to be program changing.
Luckily it also produced, Jourdan Lewis, Jake Butt, DeVeon Smith, Delano Hill, Mo Hurst...and Poggi and Charlton. 7 lower rather prospects who are all better than the top 7 guys listed above.
This class likely won't be rated higher than that one. Even with Gary and co.
The difference is Harbaugh and this staff.
January 18th, 2016 at 7:53 AM ^
I agree with your overall point, but I disagree about your placement of Dymonte Thomas and Delano Hill. Thomas is a better player than Hill right now.
January 18th, 2016 at 8:24 AM ^
Which is why he started over him for the majority of the season.
/sarcasm
Thomas got a LOT better. But the point wasn't necessarily ranking the players. It was ranking them to their "hype" or star rating. The fact that it's even close is the problem. Thomas was a 5* blue chip.

Three decomitts will mean there will be ten(!!!) open spots, given the 30-commit target. There will be room for Pie, it seems (not that there ever isn't).

Harbaugh gets that hat trick.
January 17th, 2016 at 11:44 PM ^
He already got it if you count Shelton Johnson.
January 17th, 2016 at 11:32 PM ^
Hoke is already paying dividends.
I seem McDoom for the Buckeyes on the horizon.

January 17th, 2016 at 11:54 PM ^
McDoom committing to Oregon essentially giftwrapped Crawford to Michigan.
Hopefully Oregon finds a WR quickly. May I suggest an OSU commit?

Good because we need an elite route runner in the slot for this offense. Crawford is a perfect fit.
I'm just not sure why we ever recruited or accepted Nate Johnson's commit. He came out of nowhere, we're now recruiting WRs all over the place, he was never a highly recruited guy. It's just been weird.
