Was Captain Cook Exposed?

Submitted by Wings Of Distinction on

He certainly is no Cousins.

Is Jake Rudock the Better Qb after all? In terms of leadership and respect of teammates I'd say so.

Go Blue!

Beat Florida.

Solid and slightly overrated QB but he is who we thought he was. Hilarious that his last throw wad an INT after a shit game. msu was exposed more than Cook, IMO. osu was and is the best team in the B1G. msu might seriously be 3rd-4th. They get up for big games but they beat us and osu without leading for a single second. Iowa handed them that game. It's close is all. Cook just has a face I want to cave in with a bat so I'm glad he got his ass kicked and left on an INT.

Remember how great of a leader Cook is that he didn't get selected as a team captain while a senior QB on his team. Says a lot. To me about the kind of teammate he is.

That whole team was exposed. They had no business in the playoffs and that score proves it. They've been pretenders all season long. Barely squeaking by inferior opponents, winning on fluke plays, benefiting off of miscues and everything else. They were pretenders and I'm SO glad they got TROUNCED on the big stage to prove they had no business being there. My night has been made, I'll bring in the New Year feeling great and I get to watch our WOLVERINES chew on some gator tomorrow!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I'd said during our matchup that I think msu slowly starts to morph into a spread offense next year. They'll start with Terry and run a lot of read option and each QB after will be a bit faster, etc. I don't see them trying to be the power, bruising team they've been and this game might be the thing that truly makes them see that it's the best chance to win in the future. That msu offense wouldn't have scored if they had 400 quarters to play.

Despite the opportunity he did not lead his team on a drive to defeat Michigan.  Despite the opportunity he did not lead his team on a drive  to defeat Nebraska.  On two of their key victories, OSU and Iowa, it was the running game that won those games.  Not the overhyped Qb with a poor attitude.

This game just reinforced what I saw all year.

Cook didn't just get exposed. Their whole program got exposed.

Never had any business sniffing the national title conversation this year. They skated by against inferior opponents and had their entire season defined by a fluke play. They're all a bunch of frauds.

It's a new year and ~12 hours until UM takes the field. Mike and MSU had their brief time at the adult table - now back to the kids table. This is our year. Hail 2016 and Go Blue!

I am so happy it ended this way, after that fluke play against us. Cook-- I don't know. Being a douche will work in NFL, but you also have to ball. If not, you will be run out.

don't know why we didn't blitz more - he never beat the blitz against us, but he is deadly if you let him enjoy a snack back there

Sure it's been said earlier in this thread, but Cook was not 100% (don't flinch), and then he got drilled on his throwing shoulder.  Still, he is a helluva QB, and I wish him well.

Give me a break. He's probably still hurt and Dantonio can't game plan the way Harbaugh can. Dantonio was exposed tonight: not prime time.
Go to MSU if you hope to win the Big Ten on a couple fluke, which is what MSU is and always has been. Cook's fine, he's an NFL qb playing on a lucky team that doesn't look as bad in the Outback or Citrus, where they belonged.

The only time they looked like a playoff team was at OSU with back up quarterbacks playing. They beat Iowa but what has Iowa done this year? Beat a decent Pitt team?

You know D'antonio's going to tell those guys they need to roid that much harder.

Olympic test Sparty over the spring and summer and that program would cease to exist.

They needed him to be at his best tonight to have a chance and it didn't happen.  There were already serious questions arounf his draft status and this won't help.

I think his NFL stock could take a hit, but he's got time to recover. MSU got out coached badly. If that was a job interview for the NFL, Mork doesn't look good. The NFL should probably try to get Saban again though. He's gotta be getting bored winning championships in college.
