5 Star LB to visit Michigan?

Pretty much says it all. Five star LB Ben Davis cancelled a visit to Ole Miss and says he's likely replacing with trips to Michigan or Notre Dame. Based on our depth chart, this would be a wise move.
His top schools are all SEC and he's from Alabama but there were flattering quotes about Harbaugh and Wheatley.
Prob nothing to get excited about unless he does in fact visit

You know how coaches sometimes pretend to be interested in other jobs to get a raise?
Yeah.

We need athletic LBs soooo bad.
Jake Ryan and David Harris aside...no disrespect to either...we haven't had elite playmaking LBs in forever.

I know it is from the antediluvian past but weren't many LBs often converted RBs? Or is that only something from the 1950's and earlier and today's LBs are nearly all dedicated LBs from High School onward.

I am in favor of all deluvian linebacking candidates including former running backs and tight ends.

5 Star LB out of Alabama (Linebacker U). Dad was a stud linebacker at Alabama.
This would be the 'pull' of all pulls. I'm very impressed if Michigan gets a visit out of him.

Nice to see Michigan finally targeting better athletes at linebacker. Feels like we've had slow, lumbering guys manning the position for way too long.

He is God at a program that is just as prestigious as those other schools. He gets whatever recruits he wants, and he is worshipped by everyone in that state that isn't an Auburn fan. He's not going anywhere.

but I believe the talk of his going to Texas was based on mutual interest. Maybe it would have turned out differently if they had already gotten rid of their version of Brandon.

quicker than Saban crossing the TX state line

He is much more likely to retire soon than to move to another job. Father time catches up to everyone. I am sure every SEC coach are talking about that to recuits all the time.

Even if he is just using this for "the experience" and is planning on being all sec, I have faith in Harbaugh to show him all about EUTM when he hits campus. I don't doubt for one second that Harbaugh is capable of flipping someone who had no intention of flipping after getting some quality time with him.

I really like this kid. When we offered him a while ago, I thought he was a pipe dream so I didn't pay much more attention. Michigan needs linebackers, and I think this kid could be a player in year one or year two.

Should take a look at Michigan and know they may be able to start year one. I hope we can pick up a few!
